Every time my wife and I visit Glasgow on holiday we always go to the peoples park and I walk past this factory admiring the brickwork as I’m a time served bricklayer myself long retired and I miss the work but not the weather, didn’t realise anything about this tragedy, super post deserves more views

My dad would tell us this story when we were wee, everytime we went to the Barras, very sad but beautiful and unique building

@@scotlandshistory I suppose you are right. There are a number of such disasters dotted through history whose impact lessens over time, excluding to obviously the people and the people's families. I've subbed BTW. I'm going to catch up on previous uploades now

Interesting that work resumed a few days later. Nowadays the entire complex would have been taped off as a crime scene.

Yes and for the Health and Safety Exec. to do their stuff. Different days back then.
