Elise, this was wonderful. My wife Linda and I practice non-food waste exclusively. We find delicious and exciting ways to use left overs, and I cannot remember the last time we threw food away. We also shop at the UGO (United Grocery Outlet) which is like "Wefood" selling foods near or at the sale date. Besides getting great bargains, we are assisting with the prevention of food waste. We have never purchased a food product at the UGO that was bad and not consumable. Best of luck with your noble quest, and congratulations on your educational accomplishments. B.Mac.

Wow! This brings me back, I miss Denmark!! All these ideas are so win-win, we NEED to bring Too Good to Go to the US, love that idea.

What a great presentation of food waste and solutions!! The Danes have such a great mindset regarding reducing food waste, I hope that the US will start to embrace some of the Danish perspective in the years to come (PS I remember heading over to Wefood in Nørrebro with you!!) Love the idea of bring programs like backdoor and Too Good to Go to the states; it would definitely be very successful on college campuses and many other areas as well

It's a question of changing your everyday habits, one at a time. I found MATSMART where I try to buy chocolate, coffee and nuts (all use a lot of water when grown) and other things. Last year I saved 189 kg of food/650 000 liters of water.
