How do you tell all the different sig p320 apart? Different navy seal tridents or other special forces markings? I’m sure all those markings of stolen valor that sig uses makes their guns so much better. Even if they do go off on their own.

Glock engineers got together on the factory floor and with the intention of coming up with a new product for 2023. Someone threw a bunch of existing Glock parts on the table and they started putting various combos together and the G47 was born. More Glock perfection.

@@disco4535 I carried a 1911 in the army & love 1911's, however I also love Glock's too. Although they may not be the ultimate in beauty, there is no doubting how historically important Glock was to modern day gun design. Even if it's not your gun of choice, you only demonstrate the lack of intellectual dishonesty if you question it's capabilities. maybe a little attention to the trigger & some metal sights, what's not to love then.

@@512bb I agree. I've been wanting a 46 and a 28 for years. After buying 13 Glocks I'm not sure it checks the box for me either. I'll probably hold out to see if the 46 ever comes to the US. If not, probably won't be buying another Glock again. I recently bought a Zigana PX9 for about $250. Honestly it shoots better, just as robust and more accurate at a fraction of the cost of a Glock. I think manufacturers are catching on and Glocks days may be numbered if they don't start innovating and or bringing their entire line to the US.

@RealtyPro7
@RealtyPro7 2 жыл бұрын
@@the404error7 That’s something almost no one ever seems to think about or say! The 1911 and basic iconic revolvers have been virtually the same for over a century, not just a few decades. Some designs just work and are also easy to customize for different people and needs. Plus they are available in so many calibers plus conversion kits to allow one gun to fire several calibers with a few seconds to swap. I was a bit of a Glock hater when they first came out because I didn’t shoot well with them and also because I was forced to use them. Most of my life I’ve carried other guns including 1911s. Was also really into SIG back then when they made real guns like the 226, 220 etc lol. But when it comes down to it a Glock is one of the most durable, reliable, simplest and fastest tools to use for duty or EDC. They just work out of the box and require less special care and can be used bone stock or modified. Parts are sometimes compatible and are everywhere in the world and it’s all cheap unless you want a Taran built gun or something similar. I’m no fan boy for any one gun. Anything can be improved. It’s very true that Glock changes are small and not generally exciting. And we can see glaring errors such as making their .22lr and the slim frames low capacity single stacks when everyone else has developed reliable newer types of geometry for a double stack that’s flat. It would also be nice to see the factory fun sticks for the larger calibers! And things like a factory under cut, more sight options like Ameriglo and tall sights, maybe even a factory trigger upgrade choice would be great. But it’s like buying a Mustang or Camaro. They worked when bought but an entire aftermarket world was created to make endless personal upgrades. Yet no one ever mentions the 1911 and classic revolvers when saying Glocks never really change, lol 😂

At this point many companies are leaving glock in the dust. The whole " reliability" stance will only last so long. Glock hasnt made anything " ground breaking" since the very first pistol came out
@Magneticitist
@Magneticitist 2 жыл бұрын
@@shooter3288 I'd say that's true and false at the same time because it depends on parameters. There are particular reasons I like Glocks. Namely the low bore axis and general feel of the G19 as far as the grip I can get on it, and how safe it is. None of the other guns I like outside of DA/SA platforms have the general safeness of the Glock trigger which moves an already precocked striker further under striker spring tension during the pull. Before that happens the sear sits on a shelf and can't be forced downward, which is another thing I can't say about guns like my Sigs. I can also obviously tailor my G19s exactly how I want easily with a sea of aftermarket upgrades. Having said that, I noticed straight away that I was getting 'more gun' and was able to shoot it better out of the box with a Canik. Canik has little to no support though so Glocks can build sentimental value in a way where it has over time been tailored to needs and parts can come together where they run very nice. The Glock name is still alive mostly due to people who have modified them so much they are basically different guns made by the aftermarket, so in the end it's the platforms that are doing all the heavy lifting and the platforms can't change much without defeating the purpose.
@shooter3288

@@Magneticitist that is a very good & valid point. I dont question glocks reliability. For me i'm the whats the best bang for the buck out of the box kind of person. Glock no doubt has great aftermarket, which in my opinion proves they are far from " perfect". Thats something i dont like, having to spend money on night sights & trigger out of the box to even get it to a point where i like it as much as a gun half its price. If glock would offer steel night sights & a nice aftermarket trigger out of the box standard without increasing the price then they'll have something. Also i feel glock doesn't listen to their customers or they would have atleast went with night sights as a standard. I think glock will get passed up by other companies especislly since the aftermarket for S&W, canik, springfield, Sig, walther etc is growing.

My go-to for years has been a Glock 27 with a 23 magazine and filler piece that simulates a 23 grip. Basically a 26 slide length with a 15 size grip. I found this to be the best form factor for conceal ability and functionality with the added benefit that you could still go with a flat bottom mag for utter concealing and it took all 40 cal magazines. This is basically the size of the 43X but just a little wider and chambered in 40 S&W.

I’ve been running the same set up which I’ve called the 27X and love the versatility of the flat bottom 8 RD mag and the option to have extended mags in there for control. @@teamcosta6826: It is quite versatile as I have flat bottom, with extended base plaster that add rounds, and also have extended base plates that don’t add rounds, but always seem to drift back to the G23 mags with filler piece as it provides the best grip experience and can provide the most rounds, assuming you live in a freedom loving state or are exempt from said laws. The big preparation benefit it has is it will accept any Glock magazine in appropriate caliber.

Aftermarket or third party parts (ie. lighter triggers or other cutom components) could work against you in a court. While I agree with you that this is not exactly innovative, having a from-the-facotry, manufacturer produced option is preferrable.

Just like when the FBI wrote the guidelines for their new sidearm, it originally required it to be modular & not requiring the trigger to be pulled to disable. Glock cried foul & the lawyers made them be used during the trials. The Customs requested the gun be totally modular as well as each agent would eventually be issued a single serialized “gun” plus conversion kits to allow it to be used in full, compact, & sub-compact models. Glock cried foul and the lawyers allowed them into the trials. To their credit, Glock experienced zero malfunctions during the trials and the other closest competitors had one single malfunction. I’m told that was the deciding factor. Here’s the kicker. Not a single G47 has been issued to a CBPO agent, they all were issued the G19. And instead of issuing each agent all 3 sizes if they wanted the G26 the agent had to purchase it themselves, AND it used a specific 11rd magazine that was not compatible with normal G26 mags. Phuq Gaston Glock.

🙋🏽‍♂️ I'm not a Glock person, but isn't this sort of the same reason why the Sig 320 modular system makes a bit more sense? Rather than making entire new model, you can just switch out a fire control system into a frame and slide combo that you can assemble as needed.
@neilaxelrod5872
@neilaxelrod5872 2 жыл бұрын
Not the same at all. With Glock, the frames are still the serialized “firearm” so you have to buy another gun to get another frame. And not sure you can buy slides but maybe you can. I’m not a Glock guy. Glock might have had a shot at the MHS contract if they had been innovative and not tried to shove the same shit sandwich down the DOD’s throat, with a safety that looked like an obvious afterthought, and charge more for FDE.

Glock has built a number of very innovative designs that have never been sold to the public or LE. The 46 was one of many. Problem is, as long as old man Gaston is living, we won't see any of those newer innovations. I remember the original Glock SMG/Carbine discussions. All words were it was successfully tested but never marketed. Now the new Glock Carbine is a high end piston AR in a saturated market. Doesn't matter anyway, they are still easily the top dog in the striker fired market place Civilian, LE & Mil.

@@triadnine6627 Glock doesn't make as big of a deal of it as Ruger or SIG, but they seem willing to give a customer what that want so long as they order a sufficient quantity (like distributor frame color exclusives, frames minus slides for Big Tex, occasional batches of G3 RTF models, 17Ls, etc). If a US distributor was willing to commit to ordering 500 G46s, it wouldn't shock me if Glock accepted that order. I don't even buy into the Saxony-Anhalt police rationale behind the G46's rotating barrel, I just think it's neat to see it in a market dominated by Browning tilting barrel actions.

Also barrel length is linked to reliability when using crappy ammo and although im not a die hard "doomsday prepper" i do take civil war and the reality of ethnic cleansing in my part of Africa very seriously more so because I'm white. So the G17 is the perfect fit, i know people say the G19 is just a more conceal able version of the G17 but I'm not buying it, every inch counts. And for me the part that struggles to conceal is not the slide but the handgrip so cutting the grip to fit G19 mags is logically a no brainer so this G19L is a perfect fit but is seems they used the smaller barrel instead of the bulky G17 barrel, probably for weight but in my opinion I'll just buy another G17 and cut it, i just like every 10th of a millimeter that adds reliability even if it is a bit heavier.

I get why they're making the 47, gives you this configuration from Glock instead of a 3rd party. Some people like not having to buy half their gun from a different company, it's convenient. But I also get why everyone is trashing on it. It's not bad, it's just not really anything new. Where's the 46 with its rotating barrel? What about a new caliber like .30sc? Hell, I'd genuinely consider a small single stack .32acp Glock

Too bad they didn't actually go true modular like Sig P320 . Looking at what's out there in 2022, it seems to me that Sig is filling in all the gaps in the market & their product line one thing cool I noticed is they have an Ambi long slide 10mm P320 . One thing Glock for some reason hasn't done was bring their 10mm long slide to Gen 5 in MOS...

Few years too late the rise of pistol mounted optics makes the longer sight radius far less important these days. You could say that there is a weight advantage thus mitigating recoil but it would be very miniscule at best and in my opinion the glock 45 mos is probably the new Goldilock glock. A Glock 26 MOS would be exciting for the US market because as I stated mounting an optic would increase hit probability at further ranges and would be compatible with standard capacity Glock19,45,34,19x and 17 mags or perhaps something even with a 26 mos slide and a 19 size frame, but that would be too Innovative for Glock of course.
@B_A_Images
@B_A_Images 2 жыл бұрын
You are dead on about the pistol optics eliminating the need for the longer sight radius, but the longer barrel does help a little with increasing the velocity. How about a G26 frame with the option for a 19 or 17 sized slide and barrel. Highly concealable but better velocity and a red dot.

At least the 46 is some innovation, there arent very many rotating barrel guns out there, I can only think of 3 other models off the top of my head, one of them didnt even work, and the other was designed as a submachinegun and is only "legally a pistol" when sold in the US.

I use to want full sized slide on a compact grip until I used a timer to compare the same gun in compact vs full sized. Draw was faster with the compact slide, splits were the same and accuracy was the same out to 25yds. Sight radius was negligible between a full sized and compact slide and completely irrelevant if you have a mrds mounted. Only benefit is maybe a dozen or so extra fps at the muzzle, I didn't bother to setup the chrono. So I just stick with the compact or micro compact for carry.

Ive been running a shadow systems mr920L for winter carrying for about 2 years for this exact reason. 17 length barrel on a 19 size frame. Very easy to conceal since no matter what length the barrel is it is all going down the pants. Its the grip that sticks out from the top.

@@Asidebar Must be why they all field a full-sized and a compact model. Personally, I am with you. The larger grip fits my hand much better, but a lot of people seem to prefer the shorter one. Thoughts on this way of 19 frame and 17 slide vs a grip chop on a 17. Then you still have the full length recoil spring. What made the 19 long slide co fig the least shootable?
