Gpu is running at 8x by putting a gen 4 drive in the gen 5 slot. So anyone using the board know that there is a gen 4 slot tied to cpu lanes underneath the slot he used.

Help please... I updated my MSI Z790 Gaming Plus MOBO with the updated BIOS while I still had my i7 12700kf cpu in, figured I'd make sure the Bios was updated first to allow a 14th gen CPU to run on my new MOBO... After I changed the CPU to my new i7 14700k, my MOBO is giving me a red light and I have no display 😑😔... What am I doing wrong?

I have always used Asus Motherboards, either the Hero or the Strix esp. for my last two builds, but I am not certain as I been told that Asus motherboards esp for the new cpu are causing nothing but trouble, with blowouts on the motherboard catching fire, I would like to use it for my next build, but that won't be for another while at least another 2 years maybe more, but before I do use this motherboard, I want to make sure Asus have all this trouble sorted out.

Running a 14700KF with a GB RTX 4070 Gaming OC myself... albeit on a Z690, DDR4 board. That said: I'm very happy with this rig's performance. It was already pretty fast with the previous CPU (12600K), but the 14700 seems to be a better fit for the 4070. And while power consumption of the CPU is quite scary at stock settings, it now runs great even with just a 240mm AIO... although I *am* thinking about upgrading to a 360. For day-to-day stuff and gaming, this wouldn't be necessary, though. Max power-draw I'm seeing in Baldur's Gate III, Act III (which is rather CPU-intensive) is 100W depending on the area I'm in.

Buying parts individually makes complete sense. Not everyone cares about having every single top of the line parts or want to spend $1000+ all at once. I'm getting my pc parts individually in my opinion it's a waste of money to buy a budget pc when you'll definitely have to upgrade and and I'm not going to spend over $2000 all at once because theres more important things

How would you have set up the airflow? Seems like you would've had 6 intake fans and 1 exhaust fan. I would imagine that would create a pretty extreme positive pressure build?

The top rad is an exhaust, so 3 intake 4 exhaust

Interesting. Isn’t that counter intuitive? The purpose of the AIO cooler is to pull cool air in over the radiator coils, in order to cool the liquid? Wouldn’t pulling the hot air out of the case through the radiator keep the liquid warmer? I’m new to building, so pardon my ignorance.

Gotta say, Found this channel by looking for a build with a 7800xt and i think ill stick around because the formats good, and it has a good vibe that isnt 'mono tone" or littered with useless information. Though i do hope to see the videos get better with better game testing. Cannot wait to see what you do in the future.

Takes them apart and sends the parts back to manufacturers. Or in some cases they let him keep hold of them for future use in videos unless he specifically says it is for his rig or someone's rig they just get taken apart eventually after videos/streams

nah, the 13600K and 14600K would make way more sense because the 12 gen cpu would bottleneck the 4070. i5-13600K is the cheapest optimal solution. You could also get the F series of the i7-13700F because it is 380$ which means.its only 40$ more than the i5-14600K while having a lot more performance.

Quick question: I’m trying to figure out a pc build around this exact cpu that you used, and when I went to Intel’s page of the i7 14700k compatibility page, on the RAM memory section it says it only supports up to 5600mt sticks, and here on the video you’re going for a way faster RAM, so now I’m kinda lost, is it okay to use faster memory combos for this cpu? Wouldn’t it be unstable? Anyway, appreciate any answers since this is going to be my first hands on build. The rabbit hole of components combos, comparison and compatibility is really deep 😅

@@krisztiannagyszeder1095 yeah man, you can even pair a 13600k with a 4090 if you’re only gaming at 4k, if your at 1440p or 1080p then a 13700k would be good enough, 14700k improved a little bit from 13th gen, 14700k competes with the 13900k in most games so it’s plenty

I highly recommend people NOT buy 14th series. It’s not worth it. It a refresh no new architecture, very slim bump in speed. Only one MAYBE worth buying is this 14700K. It’s the only one that is different from it 13th gen counter part. It has more E-cores. Other than that stay away….dont waste your money.
