Japan isn't allowed a military, but the loophole is that they are allowed a self defense force, so the Japanese "military" is called the JSDF (Japanese Self Defence Force)... So my guess is the added AK stands for anti Kaiju

It always rubbed me the wrong way that Mina was just going to kick Kafka in the recruitment flashback. Like I get not playing favorites but even your second in command saw his value even if it was small. There's a difference between believing he'll be there and actually denying his entry and the scene kind of does the latter, she never even give him a chance to prove it not to mention this was literally his last chance so comes off as out right cruel. Its not his fault he couldn't meet your standards and then you call him a liar in the first episode because he couldn't keep it instead of I dunno trying to support him when he sent all those years failing, like come the fuck on. So yeah I like Kaiju no.8 so this isn't on the show I love it and its manga, I just do not like Mina as character because they kind of just brush off how she's kind of an awful friend to him. Like I know she meant to be his goal and his inspiration but there are better ways of showing us Mina and not make her come off as bad friend.

whats wrong with watching in dub, if you are gonna say that voice actor voice in dub is not good then that just matter of personal preference and by that i can say that the native language voice over is terrible than the dub.
