I read that it's 100% CG. It's so cool that it's made to look 2D rather than 3D, even the monsters. So often the monsters appear 3D like in Arifureta and it looks a bit off. The animation in this series is awesome!

So the first episode is only one chapter. However it's pretty common in manga for the first chapter to be a special bonus length chapter to introduce it to new readers. Kaiju No. 8 is no exception to this as its first chapter is almost 60 pages long (So I have no idea what Rana is talking about...first 10 pages?...lol) where as a chapter normally averages at 20 pages. Chapter 2 also was also bonus length, so it's probable Episode 2 will only be a chapter as well. Should start to cover multiple chapters from there, but the pacing won't change too much.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed this first episode! :D You have your choice between the sub and the dub of course but I highly recommend the sub. I just now heard the dub version trough your reaction and it sounds nice but the Japanese voice actors went beyond with their performance, especially Kafka (not putting down the English voice actors ofc). I personally have been waiting really long for this and am super exited to seeing the rest of the season, can't wait. 😌

@@nichescenes exactly, yes Frieren is currently number 1 on MAL but the score as with most anime will likely drop. Will it win the poll over other anime like I say absolutely I would put money that come November Frieren will replace Boondocks and as someone who has watched the series it is good and depending on your preferences you too would likely enjoy it. It has its flaws like every series and some people will look past them but whether it’s the best series ever comes down to personal preference rather than a score on MAL. For example FMAB is the 2nd currently however there will be people who say it exceeds Frieren as well as others who say it doesn’t deserve 2nd or 1st place anyway. Personally I think the best series I’ve seen in the past 5 years is Ousama Ranking but that is currently 128th etc
