Never saw Flanders and Swann in person but I do recommend the show "Flanders & Swann: At the Drop of a Hippopotamus". Two excellent gentlemen, Tim FitzHigham and Duncan Walsh Atkins, performing the works of F&S and doing it supremely well.

For over fifty years I thought it was pronounced gu-noo because of this song. I'm sure I wasn't alone. I'm going to continue to say gu-noo anyway because it sounds better than with a silent g.

Of *course* it's gu-noo, silly! These are very proper English men, and so obviously, they speak the (at the time) Queen's English. Cheers.
