The God That Failed - Fred Gwynne - CBS Radio Mystery Theater

On the way home after visiting a third world country on a diplomatic mission, a senator is knocked unconscious during a plane crash. He wakes up with a primitive tribe willing to hail him as a god once he fulfills two requirements: to marry a local woman and perform a miracle.
The CBS Mystery Theater (a.k.a. Radio Mystery Theater and Mystery Theater, sometimes abbreviated as CBSRMT) is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed.
The format was similar to that of classic old time radio shows like The Mysterious Traveler and The Whistler, in that the episodes were introduced by host E. G. Marshall who provided pithy wisdom and commentary throughout. Unlike the hosts of those earlier programs, Marshall is fully mortal, merely someone whose heightened insight and erudition plunge the listener into the world of the macabre (in a manner similar to that of "The Man in Black" on yet another old time radio program, Suspense). Thank you God I know you will provide. My life has been a battle ground from growing up in foster care to now struggling to pay rent every month it’s stressful. I lost my career over not getting the vaccine so now I’m waitressing. I declined because of my pre existing health conditions lupus and heart disease. I’m barely getting by. The fear for being homeless with my children is real. Both of my sons are autistic. I’m a single mother. I just feel the weight of the world coming down on me. I’m just feeling beat down. Please pray for me and my children. I do have faith God will guide me through this hard time.
