I noticed one of the comments stated they had given up TV for old time radio shows, especially these you upload for us. I agree with this 100%. Our minds are the picture screen and they are loaded with cues to trigger these images. Also, these shows are written by pure talent and do not use any of the modern day harsh language etc. Thanks for your efforts to give us these AWESOME radio shows.

I threw out our tv years ago - a while after ‘he who controlled the remote’ left! Then I found I didn’t much like the content anyway! Great decision!

Indeed I too have given up my TV licence as could go eight weeks or more without finding something decent to watch. Radio plays and audio books all the way for me. I do not give TV a second thought. A shame as when I was growing up in the 70s/80s there were only three channels til 1982 and there was nearly always a good documentary or a decent drama. Even the news was presented correctly.

I’ve read through all the comments left and have to agree, I absolutely love listening to these plays. I too live alone so I’m able to listen all night long without disturbing anyone, bliss! Thanks so much. Please do keep up the good work. So very much appreciated. 🤩

While stationed in the US Army in Germany in the 80s I used to listen to radio programs at night on American Forces Radio and I was hooked! After that tour, I spent years searching for old time radio programs on CDs. It’s wonderful to listen to these awesome radio shows on your channel. Thanks so much for sharing!!

I remember those times when that was all the entertainment I had while my husband was at work on a base in Germany. they even had soap operas which became easy for me to imagine the scenario in my head while my babies were sleeping. I love listening to these old radio shows. Thank you so much for posting.

Thanks a lot dear Uncle Chesterton. I have been missing your afternoon plays recently due to one of our bi-monthly weeks away, this time in 'Dystopia-On-Sea' Redcar....Ha' - I wouldn't have minded but even the locals looked under-the-weather and lost.....but I DO have to say that the local Battered Creme Eggs from the Chip Shops were astonishing and as a consequence my life has changed radically ! Thanks once again Uncle Chessie lad...and do please give mine and Lotties best wishes to Auntie Elvira.

Great old time Radio. I especially like the mysteries. More problem solving and intriguing puzzling-out than blood and gore. No swearing, annoying commercials (I like the vintage ones) and no bum shots or cleavage flashers. (Well, if there is on the set, we can’t see it). 😉 And the Chesterton channel name is a huge plus! Happy to throw “a tenner” your way too! $❤

My Grandfather grew up just down the road from a public toilet near broadcasting house in London in the 40's and 50's. This toilet was where a lot of the BBC radio actors of the time would gather between jobs to anonymously "meet" other gentlemen. All the kids were warned never to enter that toilet. Ah, the good old days eh?
