@@389383 The U.S.A. was a good bet at the time. Barzini had badly beaten Vito and would have absolutely won the war had Appollonia not set off the explosion prematurely. The book explains it was a close run affair. It took bribes and a confession by a condemned mobster to bring back Michael. Indeed, it was not until years after the murder of the police chief. Fabrizio made a good call.

I recently found these videos, and when I first saw any of the Godfather movies, I believe years ago when our local cable company had free HBO, (when cable companies were small and provided excellent service for a reasonable price, unlike now) I saw the majority of these scenes, and do remember this one, and remember seeing several others.

Years past Burt Reynolds talked about meeting Spencer Tracy. Tracy could see Burt was a rising star and gave him some advice. "Acting is a good job but don't let people catch you acting." Al Pacino was having an off day acting.

First, he gets beat up by a corrupt police captain, then Sonny gets murdered, then his beloved Apollonia is killed. If there’s any doubt as to why Michael became a “coldhearted bastard,” here’s three reasons why!

The book constantly shifts from present to past and back to tell the whole story. They should offer one epic, splicing One and Two, together to make one cohesive story the way it´s laid out for you in the book. I'm not suggesting making any significant changes, except maybe adding some pertinent deleted scenes, just have and offer another option. There would also be big money in it for the greedy bstards. LOL!
