This is breathtaking, as a lifelong diehard fan of The Godfather this is more than I could have ever imagined seeing while being on the set. Especially now with the deeply painful and sad passing of Santino Corleone, James Caan. Seeing him walking around in his suspenders brought life to my heart again while being sad he is gone. He is in Heaven now and his legacy will live on as Santino in this movie forever and touch us fans around the world and how he shaped gangster mafia men in films to come and watching him and Michael, Al Pacino walking around figuring things out and not knowing how their acting in The Godfather and this story would live on for more than half a century later and help people like me get through some of their hardest times in life because of this movie that brings happiness and am grateful to Francis Coppola for writing it and all of their hard work combined together to bring joy to people's hearts in tough times and inspiring me to write my own mafia story and never give up on your dreams. ❤ RIP Sonny! 💓

This is a real find. I wish there were more behind the scenes film available. I just finished reading "Leave the Gun, Take the Cannoli", about the making of the movie. Highly recommend this book for Godfather fans. Most of these young actors were in awe of filiming with Brando who was going through some hard times as far as making any movie hits. Although, he was still considered a legend. It's amazing the work and time needed to film scenes in a movie that may only be a few minutes or seconds in a film or cut during editing. As with other great filims, it's hard to imagine any other actors playing the roles these actors played. I read the studio wanted Robert Redford to play Michael. Hard to imagine now.

This is a spectacular find for fans of the film. Very interesting how many of the Corleone compound scenes must have been filmed consecutively because of scheduling (Kay's visit, Michael and Clemenza returning from the hospital, Sonny driving off to his doom). Of course, we know the wedding was filmed over the 1971 Memorial Day holiday.

The Godfather (that's to say the original movie or Part I of the 3 part series) is my favorite movie of all-time. This is for a variety of reasons. The "feel" of the finished picture is beyond a doubt the best of any movie I've ever watched. Makes me feel like a participant. The acting, all around for major and minor roles, is superb. So, too, the directing. So, too, the cinematography. So, too, the musical score. The Godfather is a total class act. I cannot give this film and all those who participated in the making of it, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes enough credit. The Godfather is my candidate for the best movie ever. Thank you all very much! Andy McKane, Maunaloa, Hawaii, Sunday, 7 August 2022.

True fact. The house they used in the film as the Don's home. The wife who gave them permission to film in her house has about 8 hours of behind the scene, unseen family footage on a 8mm film still in the tin to this day.
@kalindag77552 жыл бұрын
Was it the house featured here on Staten Island? Same one where Brando’s cue/line cards were kept? Or another one? I didn’t realize how much of the interiors were used (not a soundstage).

Frigging amazing that this landmark movie ever came together the way it did. All due to Coppola insisting on his vision and his alone, and of course Puzo's stunning best-seller, and in the end also to Robert Evans actually wanting Coppola's cut. Like so many other historic movies fraught with complications and endless battles with studios re script, casting, budget, etc -- such as Casablanca and Apocalypse Now and Touch of Evil to name a few -- it rose from disaster to immortal success. Wow!

I love this film all my life... As a child, I composed long stories as a continuation of the events of the film, and in the form of comics I drew them on thick notebooks. I can't get enough of Marlon Brando in the film. It seems to me that such a stunning image that Marlon Brando created deserved more screen time relative to the total length.
