This is my favorite show on television currently. There isn't a single character/actor that I don't like on the show, including the side characters like the kids' friends, Bill Lewis, the principal, other parents, etc (Tim Meadows is amazing on this show). This is the show I watch when I want to feel good. I've watched the first two seasons' DVDs so many times! Sadly, season 3 doesn't have a DVD release, so I'm stuck with watching the DVR for those episodes and season 4. My mom just died from ovarian cancer on February 19th, and this show was what I would turn to many days during her two and a half year struggle with that terrible disease because it just makes me feel good and nostalgic. I was born in the early 1980s, and I get the references and remember a lot of the toys (my avatar is an 80s doll, actually), movies, TV shows, etc. I remember watching a lot of them. I love that the kids didn't grow up every year, so Erica and Barry are still doing high school stories (I feel like they're going to send Erica to college in season 5 though). A lot of people criticize the show because of this, but they just don't understand what the producers are doing. They're basing the show off memories. Memories are not necessarily linear. They just kind of mesh together. That's why you can have a show that has a television show from the early 80s in the same episode with Adam referencing a film from the late 80s. This show will always be one of my favorites, and I really want to thank the people who put this on the air. You've helped me get through some rough times, and the show is so special to me. Thank you.

Very sad to hear about George Segal's passing on March 23rd, 2021. He was a great actor not just on 'The Goldbergs' but on several other shows and movies as well. I wonder how the show will go on with him. Awesome show.

Lulugangeo4ever Free tayk “the actual oldest sister” is really a brother! Adam Goldberg has two older brothers but for variation in stories they made his oldest a girl instead. After each episode they show real Adam doing what actor Adam (Sean) does in that episode and occasionally they show a complete family picture and you can see what they all looked like.
