Cool Peninsula cabover @ 1:06. Also @ 2:49 that B-70 series Mack is a rare pic from the 60's with super single tires.

This group also included some fantastic trailers plus the background scenery. That PIE scene in the small town is not just pre interstate it's almost pre pavement

🇺🇸O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 There we’re MORE dirt/gravel roads than there were paved roads, that’s for sure! My dad started trucking in the 1930s & I’ve heard many stories of some of those roads. Sleeping under the trailer, in the coffin boxes, etc. I even pulled an old Dorsey trailer that had the swing back Dollie’s. What a thrill to connect to that one….you just couldn’t back under it & go. I dropped it once & the last time I ever did! Blessings my friend. 🥰😎✌️

@@the.porter.productions thanks for the reminiscing. Being in my mid-60s I still remember many Truck Lines that are now gone with the deregulation in the 80s as I still remember Spector going out of business in a Flash and even now carrying into Yellow Roadway. Today's equipment just looks chintzy. When I worked a warehouse job the pickup drivers always liked it because I was there till 6pm. In the late 70s early 80s I still remember them using our phone to occasionally double-check their pickups if their truck radio was bad and write it down in a little notebook. The real long-term guys had their name and Company on an ink stamp. In a small metal case to 'mark your bills of lading. One carrier Motor Transport company could only afford a few new tractors and trailers per year and even at that late date still had City Delivery trailers with canvas curtains and wire mesh for the back door that slid to the side. Ironically it was a spinoff of the local utility and Interurban rail system in Milwaukee. Today their terminal is a staging area for Miller Brewing. Ironically I went to work driving bus and that was a spinoff and learned on log GM 5301s that were 20 years old but somehow still ran. Retired after 37 years with 22 years driving and 15 clerical. Here's to the open road!

@@paulbergen9114 🇺🇸 I remember seeing Specter trucks & trailers…barely. Those were some good times for you I bet. It’s a shame that deregulation ruined so many trucking companies. I was quite young & just didn’t know much about it. My dad & oldest brother were still trucking though. Pass on your stories, for there are those of us who still like to hear them. The pictures are great! Blessings! 🤩😎✌️

O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 You always seem to get the pics with the pretty gals as well! An old truck sure looks prettier with a lady standing next to it or in the trunk of a car! Hmm! I’ve pulled some old trailers like that. Not always a joy to pull them though. Those were some good days though. Still love the old trucks! Blessings my friend! 🥰🤩✌️
