In the end the guy says - "Fecha a porta!" is "Shut the door!" in portuguese, just for the record :)

Thanks for the review. Would love to give it a try before putting my money down on it. Just wondering how this would be compared to 'Nations'? similar or quite different?

Played a game of this a few days ago. It was fun but weird. I ended up inventing the internet, the kremlin and the porcelain tower and having an absolutely feared army... despite not having developed writing or forging technology.

I wish I wouldn't judge a game by its art but without playing it (given how it's not that popular, I don't envision playing it anytime in the near future), there's just little this game can offer other than the map building element. and even that, isn't compelling enough to consider adding it on my to-buy list.

The game looks good but the art work just doesn't do it for me.

Agreed, I thought the artwork was very plain and rather boring. The game could have looked amazing if they had paid a little more for a great artist.

Exactly my thoughts, it's always easier to play a game when it's beautiful to look at.

and in today's flood of games we can afford to be picky.

Yes, the art is minimalistic and jarring at times (ugly red numbers on the yellow coins). Hanging gardens card - at first you can't even say it is a wonder, it looks so bland..

U do know the artist is Alexander Roche right? Dude is considered one of the best at what he does lol.

Smells like a bad copy of Through the Ages combined with a map puzzle. And I think the art work looks like something a child pulled of during the art lesson.
