Ragnar's armor is flashier, but I doubt he made it himself. Iorek's, on the other hand, is special to him. It has seen him through many battles and has the scratches to prove it. The difference between their armors reflects the difference between them in terms of personality and character.

why is so hard for Filmmakers to not screw up essential key moments in books? i mean i know its an adaption, its another medium you have to handle the pacing and story differently but come on! in the book he faked his injury, ripped his head of with the "injured paw", tricked him because he started to think like human. its a key moment, one of those moment you will (probably) always remember when you have read it. And they screw it i know the whole film is screwed but is it so hard to get 1 scene right?^^ i mean just tell the cgi dude "hey please make sure he finishes him with a quick left, not a strong right" and boom its fine

His paw wasn't injured in the movie either, the scene was just slightly different. Instead of hitting him with the "injured" paw, he just used it to get him gloating and focused on said paw, and used the other to take his jaw off. Honestly, of all scenes that are completely different, this one isn't one to be too critiqued because it's still really similar. Hell, His Dark Materials is known as very accurate to the book and it doesn't even do that so
