Rippa of a start.. "since I started playing Golf, I'm like paying my Bills & Raking my Yard." 😂😂 It suits the polo collar Sterl's is wearing. Sterl's real golfers button up their Polos.. it's like Putting, finish off the Job, button up the Polo 😂😂

Try and fix your audio. I know you’re trying to speak softly, but you’re so close to the mic it’s muffled and my deafness doesn’t help. When Ryan wears overalls even I hear banjos. , sometimes I feel like a Publix bag eaten by a turtle. Sterling’s Puerto Rican spin is very big in the underworld of core maneuvers oh man, you’re gonna make me put on the captioning… Something about kindergarten and a girl in a wheelchair… Dude you sound like a bass guitar?

The “it was better a moment ago” vibe is strong here in Sweden. We got some of the crappiest wind swelly little oceans in the whole world to surf in, the Baltic. Our conditions change all the time, sometimes the window of opportunity is super small, but just as the conditions can turn to shit in a heartbeat, it can turn good just as quick, so the vibe of “it was better before” is such an unnecessary buzz kill before jumping in for a session. Always find the fun and possibilities and every session will be a good one🌊

Was very connected to your surfing therapy comment. Grew up surfing one of Oregon’s more average jetty spots, always looking to upgrade my home break situation. Just got back from a trip to my folks’ that put me out at my original spot. Surfed it utterly alone for two days. At 53, every little wedge that came through was a gift, not a measure against some imagined world class wave it wasn’t. I live 3 hours from the coast now, near the mountains. Every time I get a chance to surf in the ocean these days, (we have a very fun river wave, but it’s not even close to the same as surfing in the ocean), I feel like I’m adding quality and years to my life. I’ve never been to any part of Fla, but listening to you, I feel some parallels might exist between being a Gulf surfer and an Oregon surfer. It’s rarely flat here, but we do have a lot of variables that make the surf less than ideal more often than they line up to make great surf. I was watching a Netflix special on fungi, and the expert was in the old growth forest looking for certain mushrooms. He was saying every day in the old growth forest is better than being in the office, but it can be disappointing when you don’t find the thing you went all the way out there to find. It made me relate, as that’s what happens when you are a young surfer, just trying to find the most radical high point you can achieve, and you stop looking around at how beautiful the places surfing is possible are, just on a natural level. It was good to go find that basic natural appreciation just sitting out there waiting for me to come back and look. I know this comment is way too long. Wouldn’t read it, if I saw it. “It has paragraph breaks, forget this!”😂I guess it’s just nice to have a place to put down how your podcast connected to my recent personal surf therapy. Thanks for the thought provoking content and laughter inducing entertainment, always!
@raphihuberclimbing87302 ай бұрын
I guess as a young surfer you always have the opportunity to get that new awakening, that point where you realize what an amazing privilege it is to be in the ocean right at this moment in time. What that brings is years of experience and skill building that you can then rediscover mindfully. I wish I started surfing sooner, now I‘ll just have to get out there as often as possible to progress, and right now I am more drawn to surfing by the beautiful situations and scenery it puts me in than the rad maneuvers, as I can‘t do them anyway. Would be fun to do some roundhouse cutbacks to foam climbs and then a centaur spin of the lip like sheeeeesh bro gnarly just sent it 🤙
