Amazing footage of the two engines. I love the looks of these 4-4-0 engines. Their colours are so awesome!

Absolutely! Even though they’re not the originals, they still look beautiful and they remind me of a Western Movie!

The Disney Company did the colors. And it's awesome they have working reproductions that blow real smoke! 😁

Congrats for doing the drive out there. I hope they still have that rocket display outside of Thiokol. It was funny jumping from 1869 to present day in a few miles, lol. Yeah, the greatest event that never happened. Stanford was supposed to be the first to drive the spike, but he missed, and the telegraph operator closed the circuit anyway, and the entire world cheered for the event that didn't happen, lol. (I assume the guy who missed was supposed to be Stanford, but I don't know if they mentioned the telegraph operator's help. The audio was hard to follow at times.) Another fun fact. When they were re-creating the 119 and the Jupiter, they had photos and could mechanically re-create the locos, but they discovered they had no idea what colors they were painted. No one in the media bothered to write that down. So, they contacted the Disney Company, because they had a fleet of running period engines. So the colors you see the engines painted came from Disney. (This was told to me by a Ranger at Golden Spike, and it took me years to confirm the fact by some train historian.) Do they still have those cool entrance passes? (They're fashioned after an 1869 ticket.) I looked and I was last there in 1998. Jeez, that's a quarter-century ago, lol...

That’s awesome! Thanks for the extra info. I’ve been there twice since 2021 and I guess it’s now owned by the parks service and they run everything. It would be awesome to be apart of that reenactment!
