Great analysis, Swish. We're starting to see Kerr's shortcomings as a coach: his poor handling of young players; his inability to adapt to the strengths of his players; and his inability to put the interest of the team over the feelings of some players. We are still suffering the consequences of the decision to start Klay upon his return from injury. Sadly, I have join the others who say he has to go. Bring back Brown.

Honestly the most accurate video on the warriors this year. Kerr has completely failed and doesn’t like JK’s game because it doesn’t fit his system. He wants to force JK into a role in his system that doesn’t work, or waist him in the corners. He has no business running this team if he refuses to develop and play his young talent. He has fallen in .love with pods who should be benched until he finds his shot. It is absolutely frustrating watching his rotations, 3 guard lineups and micro ball, while he sits his longer quicker younger players.

The reason I ultimately hold Kerr responsible for the play of this team is that it feels like he’s been negligent in making sure the younger players are trained properly, he keeps trying to force every player into his system, even though it’s clear this system hasn’t worked predictably in years, and he made the mistake of making his coaching goal the same as the team’s goal, which is get Steph a fifth ring. There are too many disparate parts and young players that don’t share the championship history, so you have to give them a common goal they can share. With “get Steph his fifth” you’re telling the younger players to go into championship mode, but they have no experience for that, so all they can do is play harder and he burned out their spirit. And they were already twisting themselves into knots trying to play exactly the way Kerr told them to. That’s why all the shooters have been having so much trouble. And it’s the same reason the team does better without Steph and Dray, because Kerr just tells them to figure it out. Lazy!

Honestly, I think it's time to hire a new head coach. Kerr's style has become predictable, and his decision-making is questionable. For instance, in the last game against the Timberwolves, he kept GP2 in the lineup during the clutch moments, even though they needed good free-throw shooters and decision-makers. GP2 ended up turning over the ball and missing the second free throw, which almost cost them the game. I love GP2, but he shouldn't be on the court when the game is on the line.

Get rid of dray and Kerr, things get better immediately. Plus, TALL guys do better in basketball, they have tooo, tooo, many guys under 6'6 and only ONE solid player over 6'6..my high school team is taller. Who picks these guys??

If people want to blame Kerr for the team struggles and they should because he deserves a lot of it, then they should also be willing to blame Steph and Dray too. The team is constructed coached and plays the way it does because that is how all 3 of them want it to. When they brought in Dennis they talked about the team adapting to him, well that lasted all of 5 seconds before he was forced to play their style. With all the injuries and absences he's very recently been let off the leash a little more but it's still going to be a struggle when he has no real pick and roll partner to play with. Neither Loon nor TJD are capable rolling bigs. Loon has some touch and the rim but no athleticism and TJD has the hops but not touch at all, the guy can't even manage a simple pump fake. I know their pride has taken a hit when people called them out for effectively admitting defeat mid season and they are trying to backtrack but all they did was admit the truth. This team isn't good enough at it's foundations to warrant trading in the future for some better players. Kerr and Steph couldn't make the best use of them even if they got them.

@@kks2360 Some of it is on the young guys too. Moody is just not a very good player for example. They found some very limited success with him at the 4 in an extra small line up. Overall he's poor defensively especially on the perimeter and apart from an occasional scoring outburst once every 20 games or so he doesn't offer a lot on offense either, he tends not to pass and his shot takes too long to get off against quicker defenders. JK of course has many flaws but that sort of athleticism and mentality doesn't come around that often in a guy that size.

@@alasdairmacdonald9838 I’m unwilling to condemn Moody or JK because there’s the possibility that development on this team isn’t as rigorous as it could be and it’s clear, to me anyway, that Kerr hasn’t considered an overhaul with regard to running his offense. One example for me is the shooting in general on this team. Kerr’s response has been, “they should do something about that.” Fine. But then the entire team has problems with shooting for over a month? At some point, you need to take a look at the entire operation and try to figure out why almost all of your players are having the same problem. And these are not lazy, selfish, immature people, so it isn’t a motivation issue. How long are you willing to let someone figure it out without review and adjustment? How do you know that they are practicing these things in the right way and effectively? If you want high level performance, you need to drill in a high level fashion, easiest example is shooting drills vs shooting drill with one defender vs shooting against two defenders. Same goes for rebounding and free throw shooting. Same goes for examining form and mechanics in game vs in practice and so on and so forth. When you compare Moody’s best performances and worst performances, I think his natural tendency is toward the best performances as a baseline, but it looks like most people are using something closer to his worst performances as the baseline, which is why people have such a poor view of his play or fit. At the same time, people are admitting that they haven’t seen him play enough to really be sure. Some people want to use the fact that Kerr doesn’t play him regularly as proof that he’s not that good. But at the same time they are calling out Kerr for his rotations and adjustments, so why would you use Moody’s usage as a metric when you think Kerr’s judgment is faulty? Separately, I really believe that Kerr, Dray, and Steph have wasted a lot of time coaching this team to the wrong goal: Steph’s fifth ring. This is a team sport. Only five of the players are championship fortified in this system, so they need to go back to the team goal being the same as what it was at the beginning of the season.

Moody would have to play the 4 in that lineup, we all love Moody and want him to succeed but his defense against guards is just bad. He does better against small ball 4s because he has a 7ft wing span and prefers to body up the guy he guards rather than move his feet. Also, if he is guarded by a 4 that gives him more time to get off his 3 pt shot due to spacing. Moody or Slo-Mo should start at the 4 and Draymond should come off the bench and be our new Igoudala. I keep thinking about the Cavaliers had a problem getting out of their own way until Kenny Atkinson took over. JB Bickerstaff isn’t a bad coach, just not aligned with the reality of the roster, so he wasn’t able to affect optimization of the personnel into a scheme that clicks. Bickerstaff went to Detroit. Truth is, Bickerstaff is probably a much better coach for a developing roster than performing as a coach of veterans that need a lot of subtle refinement to get peak results. JBB might well be a championship coach of a team he shepherds into the limelight. But he may not be the right coach for that job when the time comes. I think Detroit will eventually be a contender as it is constructed now. There are very few coaches that I see that can be a great development coach and coach championship level teams into a crowning glory. Kenny Atkinson may be one of them. Ime Oduka (sp?) could be one. I think there are coaches that are better at coaching veterans into a cohesive and durable scheme. Maybe it is X’s and O’s, but maybe it is psychology. Kerr is a veteran’s coach. I think Joe Mazzula is a veterans coach. The Dub’s are a rebuilding team, though. Point I am making is Kerr is a veterans coach. As was Kenny Atkinson but KA wasn’t driving the bus. I would wager that KA would be more effective with this roster. I would make a larger more substantial wager that Jerry Stackhouse can move this team out of the Curry era into its next iteration. The reason I say that is looking at his relationship with Scotty Pippen Jr. and coaching him into being able to be a rock solid NBA player at a very young age. This is NOT Kerr’s forte and is an expression of poor quality thinking that would believe he is the right man for the job as it is now. The Dubs need to turn the page. A new narrative, a new philosophy a new approach coupled with the ample resources and legacies of the Curry era.

Don't agree with all of your JK analysis, but do agree the last 5 games before his injury he was playing fantastic and seemed to be getting the "full picture." Not exactly sure how to start Steph and JK, yet always have one of them on the court at all times. Obviously, you can keep one on the floor at all times and have some degree of overlap where both are on the court at the same time. However, I think this is easier to manage when you start in a staggered position, as opposed to starting with both on the court. And I do agree with you that one of them always needs to be on the court. The only possible trade out there that I've heard of that is worth giving up JK is a trade for KD. The salaries don't match so others would have to be involved, but this might be worth it in an attempt to win now. Agree J.Butler is a bad idea. I really hope the front office doesn't make that mistake - toxic and overpaid. The trade for Nikola Vucevic is a great suggestion. Agree - if you can get Vucevic for draft capital and not give up much else then it seems like a no brainer. Not sure why that has happened yet? Regardless of how people may view Kerr, the front office, and certain players, etc... doesn't really matter at this point. What is clear is what is being done isn't working, so it is insane to keep doing it! For goodness sake try something different.

The GSW players are supposed to be a great team but with the exception of Green, Curry, & Looney the rest of them are inconsistent in performance. Sure Hield is getting better at defense. But he needs to connect his shots & find a way to produce at least 20 points a game. Kuminga is becoming great but he wants toooo much money for someone who hasn't exactly executed great all 5 of his years in Golden State. Schröder might do better leading the bench. And most of the players are not shooting accurately even from the foul line or by way of layups. Shot accuracy comes from relentless practice and desire. Plus the attitude of the general roster ought to be a desire to win games, to find a way to win, to want to compete, to execute strategy well, to excel...

Lazy!

Kerr's system has won 4 rings and been to 6 finals. Kuminga is not better than Steph Curry. The team should be run through its best player and best opportunity to win chips. Steph Curry wins chips. Build around that. Trade away what doesn't fit. J/K is a dime a dozen. Steph Curry is generational. Nuff said!

First - Get ENTIRE TEAM to WORK on basic basketball SKILLS - free throws, layups, passing, box-out, crashing-the-boards, midrange shots (worth 2 points) - only ONE warrior is good at this stuff. Evidently COACHING and the others dont care.. just have everybody pass the ball to this ONE guy( pray he's not doubled) and maybe he makes the shot. Get rid of dray and Kerr, things get better immediately. Plus, TALL guys do better in basketball, they have tooo, tooo, many guys under 6'6 and only ONE solid player over 6'6..my high school team is taller. Who picks these guys?

Another thing, Super stars win awards, plaques, and trophies - TEAMS win RINGS... Jordan, Wilt, Russell, Lebron, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, KD , Steph ... none of them won a ring on their own.

I won’t argue that, women don’t have a vertical game, so they play better fundamentally. Warriors could learn something

It can change no layups no rebounds because the roster is too small. Do blame Green only Kerr is responsible and only him. Jr. Isn't in charge Lacob has gone silent because he gave the core their request to run it back Curry,Green,Klay gone now the reason was the punch destroyed chemistry but since last season and continue they can't run it back, but we haven't heard from Green or Curry Why! They want the small ball with Green and Curry two man game. As great as Curry is he too is the blame saying " give them time to figure it out " don't need a massive trade! There you have it! Kerr isn't going anywhere my money is on the can't and won't if they haven't now it isn't going to happen.😢 All I want to see is stop with starting Schroeder with him as starter since is started they won 4 games, move offense away from Green point forward and Curry play Anderson more, Santos , waive Waters use contract for Post and play him 5-10 till end of season good or bad. Try to move GP2 and his contract. Deadline is close I just want to see more beef, not asking for a star even with one if Kerr will screw it up. No trade bring in from street McGee. They not going anywhere unless they get bigger and move away from this offense.

Many better iso players have failed to lead their team anywhere. Deprioritize Steph n Dray and them your in rebuild mode and the Podz, TJD, Jk, Moody ceiling is Play in. I'd rather watch the old champs struggle then throw away HOFs for lottery prayers

Steph/Dray combo is ineffective. Steph needs to be paired alongside JK. Draymond needs a lesser role where he's more effective He's proven that he can come off the bench and give the Warriors plenty. Long term, I don't trust what he does in the regular season in a major role. We've seen what that is giving us and for the 2nd year in a row, it's looking like play-in. Now while Steph is not 2016 Steph, I promise you it's not because he can't give you 80% of that.

I think” Steph will be “Kobied”. They shoulda got rid of Draymond long time ago and now Kerr. They both remind me of milk…both expired.

First off the best thing is stop talking about trading, they have no money to get a players then what would they have to give up, and we see Kerr is not a Coach that can develop players. He doesn't trust big players. Cause he doesn't have anyone on his team. Over 69, the best thing for the Warriors is to try and improve for next season. Cause right now they can't make the playoffs. And it doesn't matter who you bring in. They're not that team. 😂😂
@derekm481911 күн бұрын
Kerr commonly plays small no-defense line-ups. Chucking 3 pointers, playing limited defense, no scoring in the paint, no defense in the paint. Trade Draymond, fire Kerr.

Goodness Charles your ALL over this guy Kuminga as if he's the second coming of Kevin Durant. C'mon dude if he was that good he wouldn't have gotten benched. Stop it with those stats your ALWAYS quoting. He is not the future of that franchise. And now you bringing up Chicago Bulls center. Dude you didn't do your homework on salaries. Nikola Vucevic makes 20 mil per season. I keep telling you Jonas Valanciunasis a better fit and he makes 10 mil less, plus he can set great picks the same way Andrew Bogut did, plug he clogs the middle and gets easy baskets and has a nice outside touch.

I definitely don’t think he go leave to win but I think him retiring after his contract in 2028 is a 60/40 right now and getting bigger the more losing seasons they have……. SIDE NOTE… Draymond, Kevon, GP2, Kyle and Kuminga need to be traded immediately
