ALSO I give props to the designer/publisher because, even at 5 people, you only use 4 tickets. And yet, they make sure to give you 5 tickets. The 5th means nothing and is unused, but the movie had 5 golden tickets, so I very much appreciate the minor touch.

We were very surprised by this one. Loved the theme and everyone loves the chocolate bars. Fun opening them up at the end to find that golden ticket

That end condition is what made me pause when I saw it. I love the look of this game, and it looks fun. I didn't realize it was that short though, so I guess it isn't too bad.

On BGG the game’s creator suggested an unofficial end game alternative which I used and have decided to keep instead of the “everyone can be a winner” option.

Yes! My wife and I love killer bunnies and have every expansion available - and you're right on the nose that the entire game is complete chaos and a ton of fun - neither of us actually ever care who wins 👍

Absolutely love this game totally worth th buy The lucky ending is so fun. Get this gAme. Easy fun great art easy actions. Beats out a lot of games that are supposedly so great with fun card play

Picked this up a couple weeks ago and had a lot of fun playing. More than I thought I would. Worst part was the initial setup with building the boxes

My friend loves this game and likes to pick it when we get together for game night. She loves the movie and the game is very thematic. It's almost a rip-off of Instanbul with the boards and movement. The end game luck really bugged me but I got to admit - the game is fun.

Probably the one where Charlie drank the fizzy thing. It was a notable departure from the book and made the ending make less sense.

I think the gold ticket rule is a good addition because it’s really true to the theme and it’s easy to implement house rules that whoever has the most Wonka Bars wins (maybe with gold tickets being worth an extra point)

Actors have protections regarding their likeness appearing on products. Usually it means the choice between paying each actor to "use" their face or going with an abstract approach instead.

the display of the locations and the mechanics of moving Willy Wonka with a dice reminds me a lot of Istanbul, I really liked it because of how simple it looked

I think I would make it a player elimination game where the players eliminated are the winners. I would make it so you open your chocolate bars as soon as you get them, which is more thematic anyway, and when you find a golden ticket you are a winner. There will only be one loser, which makes it feel like a race to get the ticket first. You could even score it like a race, with a first, second, third place, etc.

It's cute! Great for families. A little resource management , a little card-driven actions, a little set collection and the tiniest bit of take that. This is also a perfect example of a theme REALLY improving a game. I don't think anyone would really be interested save for the theme and I think the win condition is perfect for that theme. It's unique, charming and CHEAP. Good family game and I think it will impress non-gamers, especially children. Let the theme take you away.

The characters are very imbalanced. It's less of a big deal since the win condition is so random. But veruca gets 8 allowance and an extra card every time she draws cards! Charlie is also strong but it's really fun setting up combos with his ability. Mike teevee is garbage. His ability is very hard to trigger and usually requires playing suboptimal to put him in a situation to use it that many times and up just being a hand refill. The other two characters are just ok.
