Brayden asked permission & actually, the producers were probably looking for a way to get more excitement in the show, so they may have gone to Brayden & suggested it. Everything about the bachelor, isn't traditional or normal, so the engagement didn't really break any protocols. Most weddings aren't televised, unless they are royalty.

Regardless if she didn’t have a big wedding reception, whether it was in a basement or fancy place. It’s kind of insulting to his memory of their wedding day. So in her view this second wedding is more important than her first because of the expensive dress fancy reception and all the attention. Theresa got caught up in all the entertaining. She said it’s been nine years her Billy died, so she wants to be in love again! Fine to fine love again. But you would expect her to say something endearing of her Billy, and that their wedding day was special day to them. Even Gerry repeated, well she had a basement wedding. Let’s not forget the wedding was right before he left to serve our Country. Not sure if she mentioned that!

Theresa was beautiful in her dress. She didn't get a proper wedding when she was younger. She had two days notice and got married in her parent's basement before her husband got shipped off to war. I don't care that she's 70, and I think all the "age appropriate" people are either jealous that she won or need to pull the stick out. Imagine always living by some else's unimportant rules, like once you hit a certain age you have to "look old." FLUFF all that! Life handed Theresa opportunities and she took them. Good for her! And 70 or not, she looked stunning. Gerry and Theresa seemed happy, and those are the only two who matter in this event. This wedding was, after all, a wedding put on by the Bachelor Nation so no, it wasn't your typical wedding and it didn't need to be. For what it was, it was very well done. Also, for those of you who haven't gotten married in the past 30 years, double weddings are a thing now. The intimate family wedding at church or courthouse, and then a more glam ceremony that all the friends and distant family members are invited to. Theresa and Gerry are both Catholic, so good chance that happened. It also explains why the processional was Ave Maria. Catholics can't get married in the church if they are marrying a non-Catholic. Gerry would not have been able to have his marriage blessed by his priest if he married Leslie, who is Jewish. Sounds to me like Gerry's religious beliefs are actually quite important to him, contrary to the comments I see flying around about God not being in the wedding. Overall I am happy that these two matching souls found each other and had a beautiful wedding we were allowed to see. Congratulations Gerry and Theresa, and enjoy Italy and life!

She seems to have a lot well organised and going well and happy in her life, and she's kept her figure and looks, which requires some effort once you're older. But yes, she's hopeless when it comes to men. All that emotional pain and victim stance is highly off putting and indicates she needs to do some serious healing instead of expecting a man to make up for her poor relationship experiences and choices in the past. I don't mind that someone had a go at Gerry for his inconstancy/lying like she did - serves him right, but he's so slippery he doesn't care. He thinks he can talk himself out of anything. A more dignified and emotionally whole person would have tiptoed away, instead of spilling her emotional pain all over a guy who has shown himself to be an uncaring cad.

The producers facilitated it. Nothing about the wedding is "normal". They produced a good show & they got a free wedding that was quite elaborate & had to allow certain things. Since one of them is catholic, they may have a religious ceremony with a priest & this wedding was for the show

I really enjoyed the show, I did not like the wedding. I didn’t like the family speeches during the wedding ceremony, it should have been at the reception. The whole thing was so scripted. I have seen plenty of live weddings on television and this wasn’t what I would want my wedding to be, especially with the ex’s Leslie and Faith. I know it was a reality show but at any age not what I expected. Did anyone see the reaction Leslie gave when Gerry was reciting the nuptials?

The strippers reminded me of 1984 when i was talked in to competing in the national male stripper competition.
