The best and most realistic cyber golf game is Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf. As an avid real golfer I can tell you that the Real Time Swing Mouse (RTSM) in JNPG is the most realistic swing method I have seen in 25 years playing cyber golf games. It factors in the elements of a real golf swing like tempo and swing path. In addition the courses in JNPG, both DLC and community created are based on lidar so very accurate in terms of terrain. They also look much more realistic than the ones in TGC which all have a similar generic look. Thats why there are thousands of courses for TGC. Finally the ball physics are vastly superior in JNPG. There is a reason why Golf Channel and NBC use courses rendered for JNPG on their telecasts. If you play the real game check out JNPG using the RTSM swing method and you will be impressed as much as I am. I have been playing it for three years at the Pro level difficulty which is one below the most difficult and I generally score a few strokes over par. Your not going to shoot 30 or 40 under par using RTSM in JNPG. The development team is currently working on JNPG2 which looks amazing.

the swing lag i would say is a big problem. It kills great rounds you might be having, like a random 130 yard drive that goes dead right because of the lag.

I havent had that happen to me personally because if the swing lags I always stop the swing before it goes back fully

I found the putting damn near impossible, so I practiced , and practiced, and practiced until I was dropping them in like a pro. Then I went to play a course and It went back to impossible. As if the practice greens were from a different game.

My new course is coming soon .It will be a blast as far as look and fun. Before Christmass for sure.By the way ,try this game at its most difficult setting .And it will be so close to the real sport.

Hey Apex, just wanted to leave my two cents. I think this is the best golf sim of all time. The way it mirrors the experience of golf is unrivaled in any game I've seen. Of course a Mario Golf is going to be more polished, but I prefer the sim style. I'm just a huge fan of what hb studios has done here, and it is by far my favorite golf game ever. Nice review and thanks for giving this game some much needed exposure.

Yes, there's definitely a learning curve and it takes time to become good but once you figure it out it is easily the most realistic golf game out there. Sorry to hear your micro attention span couldn't handle the learning curve.

Check out * Canibal Falls at Capora Jungle, * if you like a challenge. It is hard, but fair once you learn the course and it's risk reward holes. Course record currently 66.

This looks like the best golf sim I've seen since Links Golf on the PC. I like sports sims that mirror the real thing and not all the stupid bullshit like getting points to buy clubs or other crap that is supposed to improve your game. BULLSHIT!!!! I guess that what makes Links Golf standout and have so many gamers still playing it.

i played online match play on it last nigh with 2 friends. get them to go on the same course as you add them to your scorecard in the options then turn on turn mode worked perfect. so I don't see the problem there yes it would be better with a lobby system I recon but this way works just as well.

I got tiger woods pga 14 there is no ryder cup but it is an excellent game all four majors and plenty more and its challenging! (As long as you play on a hard setting). Its a fantastic edition. My brother has the next version roys version and it sounds like they stuffed that one up.

Tiger Woods PGA 14 is 24.99 at gamestop and I really want to try it out, but don't know if its worth considering the stripped content that apparently isn't available anymore. I was going to buy so me and my family could play on the kinect. I just like its atmosphere, but I wanted to see what your take is on it so far?

Negatives: Ball Physics. It's a pretty BIG negative. That said, what other Golf game are you gonna play? It's not bad, it just needs some polish. I think it gets away with some "arcadey" aspects, because there is literally no other Golf sim on the market right now.

My biggest issue is the consistency between shots around the greens. You can hit a LW chip twice from the same lie, it will go 10 yds and check 1 time and 12 yds and roll another 6 yds the next even though you hit it the same

I agree. Getting distances right especially at close range is frustrating in TGC2. In TGC short game wasn't great, but at least you knew how the ball would react. In TGC2 the consistency is gone. For example, a 30 yard flop shot sometimes goes 33 yards in the air, and other times way less than 30 yards while having a perfect swing tempo. It is extremely difficult to know where your chips, pitches and flops end up. Sometimes adding loft to a flop shot reduces no distance, sometimes you lose +10 yards. Chip shots are borderline ridiculous. Sometimes a 10 yard chip with an LW stops almost dead on with a single bounce. The next time it rolls 10 yards past the cup. It is impossible to learn to be consistent at short game if the ball acts differently each time. If anybody can stop a 10 yard chip shot dead on on a real green, I'll call them Houdini. Another thing I really don't understand is when you hit a perfectly straight swing but your back or downswing is "slow", the ball goes all over the place, usually huge slice. If you have a straight clubface on impact and a straight club path, it doesn't matter how slow your swing is it's still going to go straight. It should only reduce your shot length, not the directory.

This game is just horrible, stay away from this nightmare, unless you like shooting +32 , there is no way of telling we’re your shot is going because on the tee it will not show you where your ball is going to drop. Also it says your shot will be 130 yards but it only goes 100 even with a perfect shot. Putting is just as bad, no way of know how hard you will hit it because you judge off feel and you can’t be precise enough, even if you hit it straight you may fly by the hole by 50 feet even though it’s says it’s only going down 12 inches. All measurements are out to lunch, at least with Rory Macklroy golf it will give you a blue line showing we’re your shot is going and a blue circle to show you approximately the radius, this game gives nothing but a club distance, and don’t say it’s like real golf because I play WAY better in REAL golf.

I don't know if they updated it since then, but if you hit "Y" or "Triangle", it shows you the general area where the ball will land. Putting is definitely a "feel" kind of thing though. I personally haven't had much issue with it. You just gotta practice and get it down.

Jason Price it’s a great sim but it suffers from what every golf game after Tiger 07 to 10 era suffers from. It’s just a shit video game. Between crashes and broken animations and the ball placement it gets unplayable out of nowhere.

This is the most frustrating golf title that I've played. The chip shot is a joke with many shots just pulling up for no reason. The bunkers look horrible. PG is by far the better golf game.
