@@birdygamer5224 True, but Ultimate didn't have many of the side features. Stage Builder and Home Run Contest were added in much later, and plenty of the side modes from previous games are missing. Most of the focus was on the fighting and Vs. matches, and it did that very well, but I still don't think it's as complete as it could have been. The Adventure mode is *just* fighting, compared to Brawl's and Melee's worlds and exploration.

That was the one and only problem with Mario Super Sluggers. It came out for in 2008 a year after Mario Strikers Charged and yet no online play despite Strikers Charged having online play. Mario Super Sluggers was fun, but unfortunately for me among my small group of friends it was hard to get any to play the game with me so after I beat the single player campaign, I honestly didn't have much other reason to continue playing. If they had online I would have continued playing a lot longer.

In my opinion it's alright but I do miss the sidekicks, the different stages the random attacks bowser used to have in the first game and the more stomach churing screams from back then too. I still recommend people play it cause it's fun but i'mma go back to the first one on gamecube and wait till everything is done for this game because he's right we been getting used to them selling us games that are 75% done.

This is the first Mario sports game on the Switch that I couldn't get day one. I can say that I am impressed with the animations; I'm surprised that you didn't put DK's little dance as a good point. It's basically a meme now. What I especially dig is the variety of uniform colors. Whenever I pick up Battle League, I'll see what colors I like using. Unfortunately, this is another "finish it later" type of game. Nintendo really likes doing that with their sports games for some reason. I can only hope that Daisy, Bowser Jr., Diddy Kong, etc. are going to be added soon.

I know, it's jarring. Its like if NextLevelGames were to release Punch- Out 2 and you only get the minor league at launch. Why do that at all?! I find myself playing vintage games more because they were made complete. DLC should only be used to enhance an already solid game, not be the necessary development that the game needs. Splatoon 2 is a good example of a Nintendo game that uses DLC to make the experience even better.

Hammer bro, Birdo etc. were one of the best parts of the Charged (I didn't play the first game) But I'd still buy this game over fifa any day of the week and twice on Sundays

I'm a bit mixed on whatever I want to pick up Battle League despite being such a big fan of the series for 2 main reasons: 1. The Heavy Metal rough aesthetic Strikers is known for is still here, but it's more over the top moments are pretty much gone here. Stuff like Peach's Diva-like sassiness to Waluigi's nut-thrusting goal animation isn't prominent. They essentially nerfed/limited the series' main atmosphere which is the exact opposite of what you should do for a spinoff that stood out from the rest from that unique vibe it gave players with its aesthetic. 2. The game being $60USD for virtually only some of the quantity of content we would get in the past games is unbearable. It's already bad enough we have to pay the same price for this as a triple A game like Odyssey and BOTW, but now we have to wait a couple of months to get the content we _should've n deserved to get_ on day 1? Forget $60, dumb practices like that shouldn't even be accepted for $30 games and yet Nintendo is pulling the same bs they did for all the other Mario spinoffs which hurt even more considering Strikers was always seen as the most special sports game that was off in its own league in terms of gameplay n artstyle but now it's been dragged down to a typical overpriced modern Nintendo product.

As cool as this looks, I think it's sad when there's not much at all new to make it more attractive than the older ones. At least Aces had a brand new story mode and Super Rush had new modes. This game is kinda like Ultra Smash (though not quite as bad). Not saying this game isn't enjoyable or worth buying if you have friends, but it'd be nice if the missing content were replaced with something more than just cool animations we can watch on KZbin for no cost.

Can Nintendo just stop with releasing unfinished games already? Adding updates and DLC to your game is fine, but if the base game itself is lackluster (not enough characters, stages, etc.), it’s a bad look for your game. But if the game can stand on its own just fine without DLC or content updates, then they can be added as an extension to an already great experience you get from the base game. It seems that they are taking steps in the right direction for Splatoon 3 by adding every main weapon from the first 2 games at launch (probably except the Dual Squelcher because the Dualie Squelchers are its official “replacement”). I just hope they apply this philosophy to all the other games they make. Also the role reversal between you and Bathaniel was a nice touch. Maybe who is narrating the good/bad can be used to determine who likes/dislikes what games in the future!

Strikers has never really had a single player story arc, which I think would have a been a great addition to this game. The field does feel small especially after playing the original on the GameCube recently. It is very bare bones.

I was planning to buy this game Day 1, and I played the demo and it was fun, but the content is almost non existent, only ten characters, five scenaries that look almost the same (this highly remembers me to Mario Tennis Ultra Smash), I watched reviews and the content in the final version is almost exactly the same but with the Cup Mode and local multiplayer. This game looks fun but I don't want to pay 60 dollars for a game that lacks of content.

I actually did exactly what you did with Tennis and Golf and i still love Mario Tennis Aces these days, mostly because i love tennis but also because the updates really make the game worth it, and i did not have the sour taste of wasting 60$ on it when it was barebones. I did get Golf on release and it was fun with friends but after a while theres nothing to do at all , its boring. For this game, i will definetly have to wait until they at least release the first DLC or so.

Its not great, its not awesome, its not bad, its not horrible, just... Good... Its lacking *_lots._* and yeah... YES!! Thank you Nathaniel! I'm so happy you brought up the release it now finish it later approach! I'm so tired of that practice too it's ruins the games in the long term amd you bringing up Tennis Aces, Golf Super Rushed, and Kirby Star Allies are all the reasons why this practice doesn't work. Everything you said that was bad is pretty much all of my main complaints! The Stadiums do all look the same and I'm happy you said that because I'm not alone lol.

I didn't get to play the game much, but I am highly enjoying it. I am adjusting to the controls. I was used to A for pass and B for shoot on Mario Strikers Charged, but admittedly I do think overall the controls are better in Mario Strikers Battle League. Lob passes for example are done with just the Y button therefore you don't have to press two different buttons to do that anymore. I look forward to playing this game online though. The Clubs and Seasons are an interesting idea too. For now I'm going to complete every cup before doing online play.

Battle League is a good sequel, but in the WRONG place. I mean, if this was the 2nd title in the series, we would have receive it better, because it feels more of an upgrade to GCN Strikers. But since this is AFTER Strikers Charged, which was really good, this game looks like a massive downgrade, especially in terms of music variety and stage gimmicks

And characters, unlockables, amount of animations, special shots, items.... The list goes on. I looked forward to this, but they took the easy way out in terms of content. I really cannot get over the fact that they got rid of the personalized themes per character...

I really think, That Charged is still more appealing(at least to me), it just looks so much More intense and dangerous Because of the darker Colors, scratches on the gear etc… like Yeah, Battle League might be cool with friends (still have to get them around for Some Matches) and it Looks REALLY Good, But i don’t know…maybe I am just Bad at This Game 😂

I’ve been having a ton of fun with the game and I love the intensity and replay-ability. All the complaints that fans have had haven’t really influenced me that much and I’m just gonna keep playing now ok bye.

I thought it sucked that there werent many stages, but then i realized you could use the club stadium that lets you upgrade and customize the field, it only sucks that the ONLY field you can do that to is the club field, and you NEED to play online in order to he able to do anything with it

Heavily feel you on the regard about Hard Mode being unlockable after finishing the game. In general I wish games had the hardest difficulty available from the start so I feel I get the most out of the game as I'm just not one for replaying videogames. There will never be another diamond that Charged was. While BL is still miles better than the first game, Strikers was basically the Alpha, showing what is to come and Charged became everything we wanted.

People complain about Daisy not being present, but I wanna bring up that Battle League has 10 playable characters, and Strikers Charged had TWENTY. The game looks good at least, I just wish there was more in it. Wish I could play s Birdo or something.
