Tractor features overall looks good ! You need pretty much ALL the safety features...it helps keep the not so smart mechanical people safer ...AND us smart mechanical people from being in too much of a hurry and getting injured ! The reason for safety stuff is to lesson accidents ! We have all done stuff that we shouldn't.....and darn near paid the price for it !😊

If you don't like the halogen lights, you really wouldn't have liked the incadescent lights that we lived with for many decades. I changed one of my farm tractors to halogen lights 40 years ago when I had to use it at night. The diffence was unbeliebable. I quickly changed the others whenever I thought I would have to use them at night. Thanks for the review. I appreciate how many times you made the difference between horsepower the reason for the difference in performance. Not everyone would have taken the time to make that clear.

I have the same exact tractor, mine is a 2022 MT357HC. Just hit 350 hours. Everything you said was spot on. I switched to LED's within 2 days of getting my tractor. A few things that you will likely see as you rack up some hours.. 1) The regens.. there is no rhyme or reason on when mine regens. When it was new, it only did 2 regens before I hit 50 hours. After that, it does a regen sometimes every 8 hours, sometimes it goes 15 hours. RPM's don't seem to matter either (contrary to popular belief), because I run my tractor the same all the time and the regens are all over the place. They don't bother me, they typically take 20 mins. 2) My pto-neutral lever got stuck in the 'engaged' position at about 80 hours. I haven't been able to budge it since. I am mechanically inclined, and could not free it myself. I have a great dealer and they told me that LS is aware of this issue with several tractors, and they are coming up with a solution. 3) My tie rods (the ball/socket part, or 'inner' tie rods) got some play in them at 20 hours. They ended up being bad and dealer replaced them. 2nd set went bad after about 20 more hours. On my 3rd set now and so far so good.. i recommend lifting up your front wheels with your loader and checking your wheels for steering play. There should be zero play. Hopefully you won't have that same problem. Otherwise, I absolutely love my tractor. It is a workhorse.. and has yet to fail me. Just curious but, when you have a heavy load on the loader and you are traveling forward and steer left to right, back and forth kind of quickly, have you noticed that the loader flexes left to right quite a bit independent of the tractor? My previous tractor was a kioti and the loader didn't seem to flex as much. It's probably nothing. It's a little bit unsettling, but I have used the loader non-stop and it has held up great! Take care!

i agree with your comments when you talk about your kioti ... I had the same issues ... Its the small things that anoy us that can make tractors annoying rather than easy to use .. ....i see a small handful of items on the LS that I would switch out and would appeal to the buyer. I just find most tractor companies' copy other tractors instead of finding tractor owners and asking them what are deal breakers and what they need. The LS could be top notch.

I have 29 hours on a MT 573 and I wish LS would give me back my money. It is anything but a utility tractor. The transmission will only allow you to feather the clutch for 8 seconds before it kicks the trans out of gear. Then if you release the clutch it will lunge forward. Very frustrating trying to carefully spear a bale of hay or hook up a tool one the loader.

Time to bypass the seat switch lol. I have to do that to my sub compact yet, did it to my lawn mower, the seat switch and the reverse implament operation button to mow in reverse... I find it safe to not have to focus on a button to back up then it is to just pay attention to backing up without a button.
@TekedixXx
@TekedixXx 3 ай бұрын
The older lawn tractor I have has the reverse as a setting in the ignition, you turn the key back into the reverse operation mode and then you can use it like normal. I can't imagine needing to hold a button, look over my bagger, AND then reverse in a non-zero turn mower. THAT'S dangerous. Thankfully the seat switch only kicks on if the blades are spinning, and has never necessitated bypassing it... however it has given me trouble trying to jumpstart the damn thing because you can't attach beefy clamps under the seat and have the switch engaged, but that's more user error and neglect than anything.

@@TekedixXx I have also loaded my lawnmower into my truck bed, 3/4 ton with short ramps, so as I was getting into the bed my mower deck started to get hung up on the tailgate. With the seat bypassed and a hydrostatic mower I got off and stood beside it and helped push it into the box... to me that method seems safer because if it was to fall you aren't going with it, now if I ever have to reload it I never sit on the thing anymore!

I have exactly the same MT357HC. Mine has done just one regen, at 50.0 hours. My property is flat, and I rarely use high range. I use mostly mid-range, either doing loader work, or running the flail mower. I use linked pedal a lot, so when I stop it idles, and when I mash the GO pedal it throttles up. I expect your operation in high generates more soot in the exhaust.

Glad you like your LS. I've got 29 hrs on my TYM T574HC, basically the same tractor that you have in LS with a 55 hp engine. You mentioned you don't like having to put the tractor in neutral to get out. I don't have to with my TYM so I'm thinking it's not a "required" safety item. I do have to have the brake pushed to start it, but I don't have to have the parking break on, just pushed in, so that's something LS could make changes to. My parking break is on the dash, just above the break like where you suggested they move the LS break to. So far I'm happy with my TYM, it the 1st tractor I've owned so I don't have anything to compare it to. I've moved a lot of large logs, graded my 1200' driveway, and yesterday we used the forks a bunch setting up IBC totes to hold firewood. Used the forks to move the totes and then we flipped the totes and pulled the cage off the plastic jugs. We also cut the tops off the jugs and will be using them as a cover to help keep the wood dry (keeping snow and rain off the wood) when their sitting out in the field. Love your channel and it looked like your pond is filling up nicely. From a distance it looks like your finally starting to get up to the overflow just a bit. Hopefully this spring the water will actually reach the top of the overflow.

Adam - from my experience around the farm, if you leave the back glass open as you drive off-road or work the ground in a field, dirt and dust get sucked up inside the cab very easily. But then again, I’m operating a much larger tractor so that may play a factor, too.

I do have a few comments about your peeves regarding the having to put your handbrake and moving a gear selector a few inches, in the UK all the tractors I’ve ever driven are ALL been manual (Stick shift) clutch operated transmissions, hi-low boxes with 4 forward and some with 2 reverse. So for us we have to take it out of gear and apply the handbrake otherwise the vehicle will stall. Also on most tractors pre 2000 the gear select was between your legs. Most tractors from before 2010 didn’t have AC all you had were manual windows in each door and many tractors that actually had rear windows only had a slide window so you could access to PTO switch. I understand that many of what you consider minor things to most farmers until quite recently would have deemed them as luxuries. I admit I’ve not driven a tractor for a few years because of disability but as I mentioned all the things you mentioned as to be improved I would have loved to have had in any of the units I drove. Sorry if this has come across as rude but I’ve seen farmers in the UK having to work 14-18 hours in tractors with not even speed control and had to work their fields with their feet on the clutch and Accelerator (Gas) for long days from before god wakes till well after he went to bed. 7 days a week. However I have to admit I do enjoy watching your channel because it helps people understand that quality products like your wood is better than what is bought from your big box stores. Keep up the great work and the great dad puns along the way 😊

That's interesting about the parking brake. My 2021 Kubota L4701 doesn't require the parking brake or being in neutral. What it does have that's annoying is if you're not sitting in the seat and you hit the throttle pedal, it'll kill the engine. I understand if you got thrown from the tractor you'd want it to kill the engine. But when you're standing up trying to see the fork tips and creep the tractor forward, it's very annoying. I'll probably wire a bypass switch where I can disable the seat switch in that circumstance, otherwise I'm cool with it.

You didn’t talk about fuel consumption. That was one of my considerations for buying. I have a JD 3033R and mine doesn’t beep at me when i get off- that would be annoying. I took the shroud off of the rear PTO- it was on a hinge and still couldn’t get my hands in there. I’d like to take off the regen stuff. No cab- i was trying to stay under budget. I’m very happy with mine. It really is amazing how much work can be done with one gallon of diesel. Should have got one just after we bought our place.

I look over and compare all three korean tractors a lot. I have a 100 head beef operation and plan to collect four new tractors likely all Korean. I currently have my 1st which is the ls mt573 I put 1600 hour in two years. Nice solid tractor. With a few things they can improve. I also want a hydro tractor and have been considering the mt357. Here are a few thing I would like to see ls change on the mt3 series. Windshield wipers: Use the same design as the mt573 On all of the tractors front and rear. Hands down the best design there is that give you best visibility Also put them on a variable wiper delay on your blinker switch just like on a car. The mt357 needs more loader lift height. I need to load a six foot lime spreader full and the mt3 is slacking The other two brands I’m looking at in a hydro have 18-22 inches more height. I agree with the parking brake I would personally like to see the same style of lever currently being used positioned in the same way as the rear remote levers in the same area as them. Nice and handy no bending over. Just solid. I see kubota has it like this on their 4 series tractor. All tractors should come standard with 3rd function installed just like on the mt573. I would like to see the range selector on the left hand side in the same pattern as the mt5. That way when you jump from one tractor to the next your muscle memory is straight on. Also this keeps it out of the way of your leg for running your hydro pedals. I would also like to see a flat floor, just a lot more comfortable when cruising fields all day and want to reposition your feet. I think that’s about all I have for now. Hopefully ls is listing. I think if ls l did those few things they would have a hell of a nice solid comfortable machine. I love my mt573. I would like to see a few things done to that too to make it complete.

Well I realize it's just a loaner, but I can tell you when I bought my Massey Ferguson 7 years ago the first thing I did was remove the guard from the PTO, the second thing was to zip tie the safety switch under the seat so the tractor didn't shut off when I stood up. As for the neutral and parking brake, I'm thinking that might be because it's a hydrostat.

It can be done, but it is tight. (Adam would be too big though.) It is however handy to be able to open the right side door from outside to adjust the throttle and operate the loader when changing loader attachments and rear implements (ie. if you have hydraulic top link. And you can open the back right side window as well to reach the levers). So it’s not all about climbing in or out, but operating the tractor in general.

The brake and parking brake are actually broken on it but you don't need to use the PB for it to start. I think I like the older tractors than the new ones. Only con ive noticed that isnt a huge deal is some of the roll bars dont fold down which doesnt matter as much but if you have to cut it or modify it in any way then itll decrease the value a lot as a dealer would need a brand new one to sell it and it may be hard to find one. The LS looks pretty nice. One of the problems I see with the newer brands is resale value. I have a 2001 JD 790 that is worth 80-90% of what I paid for it in 2001. I also have a 2018 Mahindra 1538, not selling it but its resale value is only 60-70% of new. You pay more for a JD or Kubota but they really hold their value if well maintained.

It's not about tge brand but more about the price you pay upfront. I couldn't have bought a 25hp deere or kubota back tgen for 18k and if I did it's capabilities would fall short on nearly every task I needed to use it for. Interesting point on the parking brake. I have a JD tractor and you just put it in Park. it is a position on the gearshift. I don't think there is an emergency break. Could be wrong. I've never used it if there is. I like the "Park" position on a gearshift much better than having to set a parking brake all the time. The worst is the beeper. Can't stand those. It is like the lousy seatbelt beepers in our Toyota car... that thing will NOT shut up. That choice to use it should be mine. Especially if I am just driving down the driveway or 1/4 mile to a neighbor's house. I hate when manufacturers force technology to be in charge of humans.

True, hp and frame size are not comparable but your complaints of the kioti to me spoke of junk and not comparisons! If safety aids were on your tractor for appropriate reasons (safety of the operator) that would be fine but liability release for the manufacturer is all it represents. I'm sure your agreement with L S would not allow this but a "jumper wire" under the seat often works miracles!!

How difficult can it be to disconnect the beeper?
@douglasjackson1998
@douglasjackson1998 3 ай бұрын
Disconnecting a beeper is easy, but if you stand up and hear the beeper, that means in 3 seconds the engine will stop. If you're turning the key to start, and hear the beeper, that also means you don't get to start. It's not really a beeper issue. You have to get in sync with the machine. Luckily the human mind will adapt, and setting the brake to exit will eventually become natural.

Never having had a tractor with DEF, how much DEF does it use in a regen? The parking brake issue could be resolved by integrating it into the armrest directly or by having a seat interlock that would apply it automatically. With all the technology today, the next thing will be a camera to line up the forks and when changing a quick-connect implement on the front end. PS: I don't think us short people have to worry about the headroom issue... that's a 6 foot plus only issue. LOL

I'd bypass the in gear part. Leaving it in gear with a hydro when running, acts as a brake as long as the engine is running. . I personally rather have a shuttle shift or even better, a power reverser type trans. I'm not a hydrostatic fan at all.

I dislike the hydrostatic pedal & brake pedal on my 23hp Kubota. I really hate that they're both on the right side. It always creeps forward between pedal to brake & there's no cruise. I like my old 10hp John Deere with the real clutch & gears.

I have that problem on occasion, not often but it is really concerning. The discussion of how to deal with hard shifting was helpful. My property is so hilly that parking brakes rarely will hold the tractor in place if I am not careful parking it. This was a good kioti ck review😊.

You can access and spray lube all the moving parts just under the floor… was looking there a few days go with my mechanic when looking for grease fittings and he mentioned it.

All tractors need to be lubed. Either with grease or spray. If it’s not a grease fitting, clean it and spray lube it and your pedals won’t stick. At 25 hours you probably won’t have sticky pedals. At 100 hours you might have cruise control again. lol

Loader bleed on a nearly new tractor? Yuck. My 42 year old tractor loader stays put. The 3 point hitch is a different story though… my lift cylinder seal leaks… 😆. As an operator of a gear drive tractor, setting the parking brake is habit - doesn’t bother me at all. Non-removable PTO shield is bad design.

I dont think you would get out of your pickup or car without putting the vehicle in park thats just looking for an accident to happen Im not being a safety Sally but its kinda common sense to at least put it in neutral I would really hate it if my tractor ran over me when I was adjusting the forks "stupid should hurt"

With hydrostatic it requires the forward or reverse pedal to be pressed down. Which could happen if someone climbs in on the right side for some reason and accidentally steps on it. Generally speaking you couldn’t run yourself over, it would have to be someone or something else doing it… most likely a child…

@douglasjackson1998

It's a high-temperature burn-off of the diesel exhaust filter. It requires an engine RPM similar to the 540 PTO speed. 2300-ish.

Regen more because you're not running the engine as hard?
@JCWren
@JCWren 3 ай бұрын
I wonder if the 7 hour regen was because of break-in and testing at the factory, before they put an hour meter on it. The shorter period between regen cycles is likely due to a larger engine running under less load (as you say), so it's burning more fuel less efficiently, producing more soot. But if all the regen cycles wind up close to being 5 minutes, I'd rather have more shorter regens than fewer longer ones. You can also usually delay a regen cycle, and let it run next time you fire up the tractor.
