I'll bring the comments up to date. Surprised nobody else has in the light of the recent sad death of Richard Briers. I.m only doing it as a break from having my wall bars installed (see the show). Great performances by the cast. As an uplift this show is still one of the ones to watch. Perhaps now more than then.What a well deserved honour for all involved this was. RIP Richard & Paul. Anyone who disagrees i'll race them to the bandstand & back....

Great post, I never thought I'd see this again! The scary thing is, I vividly recall seeing this on a Saturday night during the 1978 World Cup. It was sandwiched between two live games on BBC1, though I can't remember the teams. Love the idea of the writers meeting in Dorking, nowadays they'd be on the webcam and Skype etc.

A welcome reminder of the Queen's interest and support for the arts. I wish that I had been there !

The British were producing some great shows during this era. PBS showed many of them for Americans to enjoy.

Why do the 'Royals' live such a luxurious and opulent life when their 'subjects' are told to practice 'Austerity'?
@elizabetherwin13154 жыл бұрын
@Paul Hoye My actual inquiry is why do the British, Welsh, Scottish (not as much) and Irish put up with these "royals' and acquiesce to being their 'subjects'?

It's called being a welfare queen. Ironic the only real welfare queen Reagan talked about wasn't black or poor, but the Queen of England.

Lick lick, slop slop, cringe fawn - perfect from the cast and crew here.

I'm surprized Margo didn't do a low curtsy....as her character would...lol. Lovely how the Queen has a little something to say to each and every person. Why doesn't Phillip get to shake hands? I forget if he has anti-germ thoughts. I guess he's there to kill anyone that messes with the Queen...lol.
