Fun fact about Celeborn... there is a Rings of Power fan theory that Adar is actually Celeborn. He was captured, not killed, by Morgoth and tortured/corrupted so completely that his appearance was changed and his memory of Galadriel wiped out. When it's discovered at some point, maybe season 3 or 4, Galadriel will heal him with her ring. LOL - I could just see these showrunners doing this.

In the legendarium, Tar-Míriel, daughter of Tar-Palantir, would have been the Queen of Gondor. But her cousin Pharazôn took her as his wife (against her will in some accounts) and seized the scepter on the death of her father. Her name is not mentioned in The Lord of the Rings, but her presence in this production shows us that the excuse that 'Amazon didn't have rights to the Second Age materials outside LotR' is rubbish.

Queen of Numenor, not Queen of Gondor. Gondor is founded by Elendil after the fall of Numenor. And Miriel is mentioned in the Lord of the Rings... Appendices. You have to look to look to the back end of the Return of the King to find the Appendices. From the beginning it was said they had the license to The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, including the Appendices which is where most of this stuff came from. ...okay, I thought I had a copy of the book myself but I can't find it. After digging around, I finally confirmed that Miriel herself does not appear to be mentioned in the Appendices. Pharazon and her father are, but not Miriel herself. And Sauron's alias Annatar I don't think is mentioned either. So I'm confused as to the rights situation here.

"Is he just not in the lore?" Obviously he is in the lore because he existed at one point. I suspect they'll bring him back by the end of the show somehow, even though it won't make sense, because they're going to try and tie it back into LOTR somehow because this whole show is largely memberberries for the LOTR film trilogy.

"Miriel's not even a character in Tolkein's lore" She is, but she's not mentioned in the Appendices. Tar Miriel is Tar Palantir's daughter and the heir to the throne, however, her cousin Pharazon married her against her will and against the laws of the nation (it is against the laws of Numenor to marry first cousins) to become King. The appendices simply say that Pharazon was Tar Palantir's nephew who stole the scepter to become king, it doesn't say how. That said, in some versions of the legendarium, Miriel actually married Pharazon willingly for his wealth. In the lore, when Pharazon sets sail to try and attack Valinor and the Valar destroy Numenor, Miriel dies while watching the waves wash away Numenor. In Season 1, Miriel uses the Palantir to see the waves washing away Numenor, which is her fear you see in this season. That's a reference to the fall of Numenor, though lore-wise the Palantir are not capable of seeing into the future.

Every bit of this show is trash. The numenor, the eregion, the hovbits, all of it is blasphemy of Tolkien and if you're a Tolkien fan you'd hate it as much as I do. I hope it gets canceled and Amazon sells the rights to whoever has the lotr rights and they make the 2nd age the right way.

Are you referring to the Hobbit kiss in this video? Because Poppi is kissing a guy there. He may not look male but he's a guy. Darth Sauron is complaining about the portrayal of the kiss being so incredibly forced, not it being a lesbian kiss (because its not). Honestly though I am surprised they didn't try to push Poppi and Nori together.
