+john tracy I'm torn on that sentiment, but I think so many westerns are up there, it's hard to decide. High Noon... The Shootist.... Unforgiven.... Magnificent Seven.... The 1936 version of Three Godfathers (starts off shaky, but has a strong ending), those movies can't be ignored either. It's impossible for me to say this is the best, because all of those movies were so unique and powerful in what they set out to accomplish, I can't compare them. Then, I also LOVE the Maverick Movie, just for a good fun time.

yeah i agree it is unbelievable that all modern day moviedirectors think that you need a cut every 5-10 seconds taking all the aktion away from one scene. I mean manny people would go to the cinema if a movie of this quality was showed/reincarnated with 4K. I think the cinema that would do this would make thousands of dollars. Somewhere in my record collection, I still have this album. This soundtrack of "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" is my favorite soundtrack of all time. I must have played this LP hundreds of times during the 1970s. The music is so haunting that I used to listen to it for hours on end. Likewise, whenever the movie appears on television, I watch it. I never get tired of seeing it. I must get one of those retro turntable record players to listen to this album again!
