​@@rileybuchan8466we don't really need that talent in the banking sector, banking doesn't require much in the way of qualifications or skills . The banks make money out of ripping its customers off. They basically print money out of cyberspace and lend it to us at an over inflated interest rate. And charge extortionate rates on credit cards, its criminal, if we did the same we would be locked up in prison and most likely a heavy fine. And don't forget all the other charges, charges for late payments or going overdrawn etc We have a big shortage of Engineers, doctors, nurses etc. And don't forget all the poor people who work in the NHS, but are actually employed by private companies, and so don't get any of the benefits.. Benefits, like defined benefit pensions, long full payed sick leave, long payed holidays, free training courses so they can go up grades and substantially increase their salaries. Don't forget all those forgotten heroes cleaning our hospitals etc etc

Also at least in banking you can move firm- there is some sort of market mechanism. If you work for the NHS or in public education, you get what's on offer- there is no marketplace. This is why striking is so important in closed shops and monopolies, because it's the only tool available. You can only vote with your feet by changing profession, which is sadly what a lot of people are doing. Of course a few can go in to private healthcare or education, but that's the opposite of what we want doctors and teachers to do. It's also a much, much smaller marketplace for jobs, and if the public sector is paying badly that drives down salaries there as well.

The tories promised 40 new hospitals. Zero have been built. Doctors find it less and less attractive to join the NHS and this whole debacle puts students off doing medical degrees. The tories encouraged us to « clap for nurses » yet they are underpaid and have to use foodbanks whilst tory donors and mates made £billions on dodgy PPE contracts and bankers who brought the world to financial collapse in 2008 can make £millions in bonusses for gambling with other peoples wealth, savings and assets. It is sickening and all wrong.

If our public sector workers had not had the courage to go on strike, the issues that they have now highlighted would have remained fairly hidden from the population. So first of all, I say to those striking workers, thank you for opening the eyes of the population you so fantastically serve. But I would say that this is something else that the government is scared of - now that the population does see what is going on and is so totally in support of our striking public sector workers, the government is scared because there are no more hiding places for them. Sadly, if they would just sit down at the negotiating table, I think they would see how totally reasonable our public sector workers are and there would be ways to find common ground which again would show these workers the respect that they have so earned. Strikes are not a fence to separate, they are a means to communicate about problems. Therefore, no need to fear them so much that you come up with laws to stop them.

I was fully aware of the situation before they went on strike, it is something that all workers are going through. It hasn’t been kept a secret, if you didn’t know that would be your own ignorance. However the reason for the NHS mess is the fault of the many pen pushing managers whose choose to hire diversity officers rather than doctors and nurses. They buy equipment that is the most expensive and useless. The NHS has the money it needs but it is being spent incorrectly. The funds to pay for the NHS are from the taxpayer and when the NHS was born we had 100% employment, today we are closer to 60% employment which is a huge loss of revenue. Further the NHS was supposed to treat people living in the UK. Now we are treating anyone and their granny who chooses to arrive on our shores. It is not my responsibility to pay for a woman from Ghana to have her 15th child because she is poor in her country. It’s not my responsibility to pay for health tourists from any country nor the illegals arrive on our shore daily. THIS IS THE REAL PROBLEM. OPEN YOUR EYES PEOPLE.
