I graduated without a preceptorship due to covid and was still able to get an offer from 6/8 hospitals that I applied to. All magnet hospitals. they didnt do a gpa check either. Just need a solid resume and your best self when you interview. All 6 offers were either ICU or ER. So if any of you are watching this video with concern, dont be. You got this! I started my dream job 3 months ago and I love it!

CLEP exams over AP every day of the week. It’s almost criminal that we’re not told about CLEP by our highschool administrators. AP was pushed VERY heavily, and it’s very difficult to transfer credits a lot of the time unless you score a 5.

It was very interesting to see the differences in the nursing cirriculum in the U.S.A compared to the U.K. I'm particularly intrigued about the non-nursing related modules you had ,because, here in the U.K we dont have anything like that at all. Instead, all the modules are strictly centred around nursing from the very beginning in 1st year and a class in "Film and Music" like you had would be very unusual over here. Thank you for the insight , I really enjoyed this video. 😄

Interesting! I actually didn't think of that before I made this video or I would've explained a little bit more🙈In the US, there's different types of nursing programs. Some are just nursing schools but usually if you go to a four year university, you end up doing electives to satisfy a unit requirement. different classes are worth different units. you can also be a part time or full time student but most nursing programs are full time student based. The electives can be anything you want that fits in your schedule and is usually dependent on the university! i took multiple film and history classes and at ucla there's a disney imagineering class, a beatles music history class you name it. it's quite fun and usually a guaranteed A. we also had requirements like communications (non nursing), a philosophy class, and psychology. i understand the novelty of the first and last but i've never had to use philosophy. i guess a pro of going to a four year university is you get the american college feel but honestly most people can get away w a nursing program that doesn't have these things and still do great! So for the UK is it just a nursing track that you're on in HS to university?

Hi jayla! Thanks so much. Sometimes we’re too hard on ourselves even when we try our best. Just showcasing that there’s always another way around and that it’s okay to keep reaching for those dreams. (The ones that seem the most unattainable!)😊

How were you able to get into the UCLA nursing program with C's? Is it different for resident students compared to transfers?
