My wife works PCU down here in south Texas. She says after her shift she feels like she got hit by a truck after she’s done. I’m so proud of her though she’s a warrior… I do PDN… much more chill, 1 : 1 care; hardest part is dealing with the families… 🙄

All the nurse bros and sisters know day shift is a stark contrast from what is experienced during the night shift. 🤣 like if you agree!

So well articulated. I feel all of this. I've been a new grad on a step down ICU/ med surg for four months. Everyone says I'm a great nurse and they keep putting nursing students with me. But I'm so stressed, ALL THE TIME. It sucks when I have a heavy group and then there putting new nurses with me.

I can tell by looking at this shoe its not going to be comfortable, too thin on the bottom for a 10 to 14 hr shift

I'll say it in one word: BRUTAL! Especially if they force midnights. I NEVER had 1 patient in ICU. ( 23 years). If the first patient was crashing, your second patient was on auto pilot with a buddy looking in. If BOTH your patients are crashing, all you can do is pray.😢. Go to the gym? I was lucky not to fall asleep at the wheel on the way home! 1 patient... damn!
