IKR. If someone brake checks me and i bump them i get a penalty everytime. But same thing happens and i get hit from behind and go flying into a barrier i get a track limit penaly and who hit me gets nothing. No consistency or actual logic in the penalty system. Only way for a clean race is set a pole and just go.

Exactly DotNet. I remember a video about a Brazilian that made it an art form giving opponents penalties. Things like this are part if the reason why I don't like multiplayer games. I may never play 7, because everything after the PS2 is dead to me. But even if I did, apparently single-player A.I. sucks too. I left consoles at great time.

I think the biggest difference in the driving itself between real life and simulation is awareness and margins. You'll know exactly where your opponents are at all times in real life without spending much focus on it. You also often race within less than 10 cm from your opponents through the corners without contact. Those things are complicated in simulations. Braking within 1cm or similar every lap is also no too complicated in real life. Doing that in simulations feels almost impossible due to the limited depth of field.

you can get enough awareness if you play simracing games that have VR (like iRacing or AC). After trying VR I just can't get back to playing with my one screen.. but I'm mostly drifting so it's crucial for me to be able to freely turn head to see how close I'm getting to other cars.
