You've really given some great angles without giving a slanted view of this exquisite property. I'm inclined to have slant towards not liking it, but I'm leaning to loving it, if there's not a dip or drop in real estate values in relation to the area gradient. Without sliding into a diatribe on falling values, I am inclined to think the decline will level out, because it's obviously on a solid foundation.

Due diligence isn't just for big business deals. We all need to do some analytical thinking for many of our decisions: selling, buying, changing jobs, taking out a loan, choosing where to live. When we're kids our parents do the thinking for us. When we become adults life gets much trickier.

Just because YOU may have a wonderful life, full of rainbows, unicorns, and polka-dots, doesn't mean every other person in SF is having a great time. SF has gone from a decent place to work and live, to just another so-called [too] liberal paradise, where individuals are allowed, and even encouraged to destroy themselves thru drug use, quite publicly, then nod out and hopefully awaken later to do it all over again-anywhere in the city, at anytime. I'm a native, who knows what's really goin' on...idiot. So, shut up. No one in their right mind would ever invest in an apartment in this building. It is a very sad situation but at least it happened to ultra-wealthy people this time instead of the common person (which is the norm in the USA). But look at this penthouse! It is almost obscene in its lack of any humanity or warmth. It reminds of the waiting room in a doctor's office. Devoid of all delicacy and elegance - a cold humanless industrial style for psychopaths who had to claw their way literally to the top of the world to afford this "I've arrived - look at me" penthouse. I've seen more human warmth at a Wells Fargo ATM.

The people who buy these are well connected and will find a way to get someone else {taxpayers} to pay for their mistake. 100 million is being spent on the fix and the developers are blaming the construction of the city transit station next door. That isn’t the cause of the tilt, but I think they may have succeeded in getting the city to agree to pay. Corruption from top to bottom.
