It's finished! Thank you again for the tutorial. I took my time, replayed sections, and made notes. After an initial misstep creating the second lot of four points, which I frogged and started over, it went beautifully. I used two and a half colour-changing cakes using a 4.00 hook to make a good-sized baby blanket. Because I made sure to keep the big holes aligned and to maintain the same tension throughout, the blanket lay flat. It is a marvellous first project and greatly increased my confidence to tackle something a little more challenging. 😃😃😃

This is the perfect pattern for what I needed now. My Hospice group wants blankets using red, white, and blue yarn. I was going to make the star pattern you made a video of but this one works up quicker. The pattern you provided is in UK crochet terms so her DC is a SC in US crochet terms. She did two rows of SC for a border which would be more solid than a DC border, but I agree with you that it really looks OK without a border. Thanks for another great video and Happy Thanksgiving. I would rather have snow any day than the ice storm we got here in Virginia that broke trees and caused 77% of our area to lose power that will take several days to get restored. Thankfully we were two miles away from the power outage area.

Could I as you a question? After round 7, after the points do you put a cluster in each valley or skip every other valley?
@BernardAcree3 жыл бұрын
@@lelayancy713 You do 2 rows without any skips and then do a row where you skip the center open space. Just keep repeating those 3 rows remembering to only skip the center space every 3rd row.

I'm using Caron Cakes in Pistachio color & it's turning out amazing. With the long change of colors in between it appears to give it more definition. I also started making another one using Sweet Rolls. I've decided on these 2 I will not be chaining 1 between the clusters as it doesn't leave a big gapping hole & it seems to make a more definite point which I prefer. Totally love it & thanks for another great tutorial.

Hello Craig from the UK. I just want to say how thrilled I am to have found this granny stitch star blanket, Ive been looking for one for a while now and this just happened to pop up! Had 3 large Caron Tweed cakes in my stash for ages, wondering what to make with them, well Ive already used one and the blanket is looking lovely. Its a variegated chunky yarn, very soft, in colours of beige, brown, orange and yellow, so nice for the Summer and Autumn. Using a 6.5mm hook and its crocheting up very nicely as the pattern is so easy and quick! Have just joined my second cake as I want to make a decent size blanket. I dont suppose you would consider doing a round granny stitch circle blanket tutorial? Thank you so much for this one, you are a brilliant teacher and I will definitely be making more! 😊

This was my first time working with you. I needed a different style. And this is for my autistic grandson as a sensory blanket. And its Oct 10th 2021. This will be a Christmas gift for him. Who taught you to crochet? All others I need to slow the video down. But not for you. I love that you go as fast as me. Lol. I got ahead of you and had to wait for you. Teasing. But you are very good at it. And I did make that dreaded fogging. But I was able to fix it. Now I'm on row 8. And I repeat round 5 again.

It's the Canadian gal. I started 2 of these blankets yesterday as I've never made them before. I'm making these for 2 little girls ages 2 & 4 yrs old as they are sisters. I'm not making it very big but big enough for them to snuggle under as I will be turning them into loveys. I purchased little soft stuffed toys vice making them & will be attaching them either into the middle or close to one of the points of the stars. They are turning out really cute. One I'm using Caron Cakes in Cherry Chip which the colors are various shades of light to dark pink but since it's for a little girl I decided to cut out the dark red & also the reddish brown color as personally in this pattern & for the age of the child these colors just don't seem to go well. The other blanket I'm using RH SS Ombre in Fiushia various shades of pinks & that is gorgeous. I definitely will be making more of these but have decided not to ch 1 where you mention in the tutorial as I feel it will be a bit tighter stitch without it. Love this tutorial as you explain it so well.
