The fight scene between him and Keith David in The Live was incredible. He was great in that movie and i still watch it a couple times a year. I remember Piper's Pit and Roddy was just so animated and talented as a wrestling performer. His skits are legendary. He was so popular with all the fans, he had that special talent. John Carpenter always picked the right guy for the lead role in his movies and choosing Roddy for They Live was a classic choice.

Met him a few times at cons and he was THE most wonderful guest to meet. I've met over 100 people at cons but I always said Piper was the guy you walked away thinking it was more his pleasure to meet me than mine. He was just that warm and welcoming. The last time I met him he signed my They Live mask, and he seemed just a tad off or his mind was cloudy. 5 months later he died, and I had no idea he was battling a disease. I'm sure he was medicated last time I met him yet he was still so warm, caring, and great to his fans.

There are some dudes when they go you just know you ain’t ever gonna see a dude like that again. Roddy is one of those dudes. I’ll miss his energy, his spirit. I am so glad you found his final resting place. It had always been reported when I had looked or heard of his passing that his ashes were spread on his farm that he felt the most at peace, his wife Kitty's words. He was an amazing wrestler, actor and human being. A&E did a documentary on him recently, it is a great watch. His death got to me as well. Had his tombstone not said 2015 I would swear it hadn't been that long.

He had a host of health issues and not all from wrestling. He even had cancer. It wasn’t hard to think that he won’t live to be really old. Wrestling back then was a hard business and even harder on your body. You were on the road 300 days out of the year. You usually wrestled hurt for weeks or months before you could get time off. Taking too much time off could be a career killer in some cases. Also you didn’t get paid if your not wrestling. Thankfully the business is better now.

I grew up watching wrestling, first with my Grandma! I was at the very last Piper’s Pit at the Philadelphia Spectrum back in the day. What a performer he was 🥲

I just saw the fan meet up video, that was really cool. I wish i could have went. I grew up watching wrestling too and loved Piper. There was nobody like him and there never will be. How do you know it was the last Piper's pit at the spectrum?

@@StephanieHall2672 that's so great that you have that memory. I think when we're young we remember things that didn't exactly happen the way that they did. This is prob a stupid question but are you from the Philly area? Because you said you were at the spectrum. I went to a bunch of live events when i was a kid at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. There was a time i was going every month. What a time!!! How long have you been watching Grimmlife? They're just incredible!!! You were at that fan meet up? I'm a fairly new subscriber but i wish i could gone

@@gizmomanhattan I grew up in Delaware but live in AZ for the last 20 years. I’ve been watching the Grimms for a few years now. I did meet the at Tom Devlin’s and they are so nice. I had a lovely time talking with Jessica and even got some hugs. Awesome couple and I predict their channel will continue to grow!

Oh that's cool. You were close to everything growing up. I loved AZ when i was there. It was 15 years ago and in the winter though. I took a road trip from the Grand canyon all the way down to Tombstone. That's so great that you got to meet the Grimms and got a hug from babyghoul. Was that the first meet and greet? I hope that i can meet them someday. I've seen a few of their videos in the past but just got really into them recently. Yes i agree, their channel will blow up

Rip! Good actor in "They live" along with Keith David aother legend of Hollywood! I hope you will make in the future a video about the final resting place of Chester Benington the vocalist from Linkin Park ! I miss him cause he had a unike voice and he was a true rockstar! No one will be like him! Respect for all who left us too soon! I hope they will find peace in the afterlife!

Met him twice at some horror conventions. Loved to tell stories and was a entertainer through and through. One of the nicest men you could meet. Sad to know he died a couple years later.

He was of Scottish decent. His parents were from Scotland, so the gimmick wasn’t a stretch. And he taught himself to play the bagpipes after lying to a promoter that he could. He was also an accomplished amateur boxer in his youth.

Just became even bigger fans of you guys!!!! I’m only 31, so I was still too young to watch him wrestle, but boy do i know another him. He was legitimately one of the best talkers, toughest dudes in wrestling. Some say stone cold was tough, Piper was tougher. Dude had no problem telling people how it was, Even outside the ring. True badass 👏👏

There's only one Rowdy Piper! I miss him so much. He was always one of my very favourite wrestlers, and had an in-your-face personality that demanded to be reckoned with. Since his notorious scalping match in WrestleMania III in the Silver Dome at the Mall of America to his Sottish bagpipes marching band on then-WWF's Monday NIght Raw, he was quite a character - a real shining star. Everything he did was larger than life, and wherever he appeared became a Main Event. My most cherished Piper moment was the record-breaking extended fight scene in John Carpenter's "They Live", which took violent comedy to dizzying new heights! That was da bomb!, as Jesse from "Breaking Bad" would say. Piper was as entertaining an action hero on the silver screen as he was a major player in the ring. RIP, dear Rowdy. You're The Best!!!
