I grew up in that cemetery !!!!! My grandfather was the on site live-in caretaker. My father worked there for 40 years. I remember the first time I saw her grave - the front desk at the cemetery wont tell you too much (they used to deny that she was buried there). I used to walk around in there at night time after the gates would close (grandparents were in the caretakers house, that no longer exists, and was torn down after my grandfather died).

@@thatgardeninggirl2864 Please please please visit Mountain View Cemetery !. It is SO full of history. Not only is Elizabeth Short here, and Ghirardelli (as shown) Henry J Kaiser is buried there, as well as a few of those lost on Titanic (though I think it is obviously a stone only). It is truly a magical cemetery, and I am so proud to have lived in it.

Loved the video. Its touching how the family didn't publicly disclose Ms. Short's location in the cemetery, and how you respectfully kept the exact place a secret. What also struck me is how decayed the mausoleums look at Mountain View. It's a reminder that life is very short and non-existence is eternal. Even our graves will be forgotten one day and be overtaken by time. Enjoy every moment and don't ever sweat the small stuff. Took me all of my forty five years to figure this out.

My mom is buried in Colma at Holy Cross, which looks a lot like the Mountain View Cemetery and near Joe DiMaggio and since she got buried in a plot her mother left for her after her first husband died during the Spanish Flu, on Halloween 1918, it's so amazing compared to the recent Panic, where I never knew of a single person who died from it.... the whole row was nothing but people under 30 years old who died from the Spanish Flu on the SAME DAY.
@CShells Жыл бұрын
Agreed. Personally, I don’t want to be buried. In 100 years and beyond, no one will care where my remains are located; just wasted space. Sad maybe, but true! Cremation and ashes spread for me. Let me return to the earth that supported me in life without the barriers of a casket and vault.

It is unfortunate and I totally agree with you, I mean I can't help but wonder what happened in order to make someone do that. I have so many questions that I don't even know where to begin to ask. It's a horrible way to gain fame and be remembered as the woman who was cut in half and given a Glasgow Smile 😔 she's way better than we are that's for sure, she's off living her life somewhere else.

Yea, Jessica always splaying herself over celebrity graves while wearing black is just so “respectful”. She’s in this for her video time, not respect. You can tell he puts the time into the research and gives the history in the videos. He’s cool. She just wants to be on camera talking in a baby voice to be seen on KZbin. I love him but she’s sad cringe.

Yeah She shouldn't have walked all over the grave site and then sat on it like she knew her, your not supposed to walk over graves, one it's bad luck and two it's just totally disrespectful, you either walk to the side or behind it if it's stacked next to more head stones.. *That's all💯💪

"Visiting a place like this makes it all the more real." That is how I felt when I visited the crime scene (I've never been to Elizabeth Short's grave). Upon walking to the crime scene site, the one emotion that hit me like a ton of bricks was just simply - sadness. I know when we talk about Elizabeth Short, I know we are not talking about the Virgin Mary, but I also know that she did NOTHING to deserve the fate that was handed to her. So I can't praise this video enough for showing respect for a human life than sensationalizing the circumstances of her demise. Great Job.
