“An absent father with good intentions” 😂 good one

My personal fan theory is that Dumbledore secretly had a massive crush on Severus, but didn’t consider pursuing it thus sacrificing his happiness for the greater good. It feels like Albus could’ve seen Snape as a bit of reverse Grindelwald, evil and nasty but saved by love. Maybe it’s a romanticizing of simply genuine and active remorse, I don’t know. But I personally believe that Albus denied himself any sort of happiness or personal relationship as an act of punishment, as well as his devotion to the cause. I imagine Albus and Severus could have formed meaningful relationship, both made a hobby of inventing spells, for instance. They could do fun experimental magic together, discuss recent publications in the transfiguration today or whatnot. But Albus never thought about it as he was afraid to heal Severus’s traumatic guilt even a bit in order to keep Snape a perfect instrument for the greater good. I honestly see them as a sort of couple as captain Raymond Holt and Dr. Kevin Kozner, in their alternative happier and kinder life 😢

Anything is possible, but idk. There’s a roughly 80 year age difference between them, so despite Snape being well into adulthood something about that relationship would feel creepy to me haha. They do certainly share a bond, however!

@@MagicalTheoryYTthat’s another factor for sure! But I think they at least could’ve been good friends, if not for the greater good

It makes him more ‘real’ to me. Who is really 100% a ‘good guy’? No one. Everyone makes mistakes or learns that they weren’t doing as well as they thought. The point is that he learns better, and he does the best he can to be better. The fact that everyone in the books is imperfect is one reason why so many people love the books and are still discussing them. Also, who wants him to be perfect? That’s boring and sometimes even irritating. He doesn’t have to be a hero or villain. He’s just a man.

I have been seeing a lot of Dumbledore hate on KZbin, but I honestly don't hate him. I don't think this hate is warranted. Has he done stuff that might not be that good? Yes, but really, who hasn't? Also, yes, I found you because of the Super Carlin Brothers. I have been watching them for years. 😅

Haha, well I’m glad you found the channel! And I definitely agree. Dumbledore is just a human who makes mistakes, like any of us.

The true brilliance of Albus is that he recognized early on that power was his weakness, and so he refused it. Also, I think Albus is utilized as the parallel to Cadmus Peverell. The brother that asked death for the resurrection stone. It is that very stone that creates the scenario where Albus is going to die, and it is Snape’s counter curse that grants him “maybe another year”. Albus knew that the ring held the stone, and that it was certainly full of dark curses by Riddle in an effort to protect the Horcrux. Albus failed to resist the urge to “cheat death” and be reunited with his dead loved ones, just like Cadmus. Riddle is very similar to Antioch, his thirst for power and the elder wand, and Harry is of course Ignotus in this parallel. Greeting death like an old friend several times and cheating it on accident. I think the three hallows and the three brothers were intentionally reflected by Tom, Albus, and Harry.

I like that idea, thanks for sharing! Also sick pfp haha.

@@MagicalTheoryYTand thank you very much for the video! Antioch and Cadmus had the Elder Wand and the Stone, respectively, and these two items would be swapped between Tom Riddle and Dumbledore, the former gaining the stone from his Gaunt family, and the latter gaining and possessing the wand for over 50 years as a result of his battle with Grindlewald. Yet Harry, and the Potter’s as a whole held the cloak for life and passed it on willingly, and faced death without fear. Antioch/Riddle would die because of their overconfidence and reliance on the Elder Wand. Cadmus/Albus would die because they could not resist the urge to use the Stone in order to reunite with their lost loved ones, their inability to accept death. Harry/Ignotus would accept death as a natural part of life itself from the beginning, and as such be impossible for death itself to corrupt them. Thats why Harry was the chosen one, he was the master of all 3 hallows at one point, without actively trying to become their master, and he did indeed conquer death several times. “It is a curious thing, Harry, but perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. Those who, like you, have leadership thrust upon them, and take up the mantle because they must, and find to their own surprise that they wear it well.”

I don't think it was the killing curse because for none to know whose curse hit arianna all 3 would have had to cast ut at the same time and aberforth was against anything dark. I think it more likely a curse similar to what mrs weasley did to Bellatrix where all did a powerful non verbal blast, that also adds to the ide they dont know which one hit her. I don't know if he was a villain, I think he was more a draco in he could talk the talk but didn't justify the ideal of hurting another and always seemed to let others focus on the confrontations because he was scared of his own skill and power

another great video :D I honestly never hated Dumbledore, he has done..questionable..things in his youth but in the books he was always portrait as a person who shows kindness and compassion toward others. At least thats how i interpreted it.
@MagicalTheoryYT10 ай бұрын
Totally! He uses his power to help those he trusts find their own talents and helps them to become champions of goodness. If that’s not using his talents to make the world a better place, idk what is!

Also there’s a rather dark theory that Dumbledore trusts Hagrid so much because he keeps him under imperious since his expulsion. Interested on your view on this ❤
@MagicalTheoryYT9 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I do honestly find that pretty absurd haha. Why would he need to do that to Hagrid? If it’s to keep him from blabbing it isn’t working. Not to mention he slams Karkarov against a tree at the worst moment lol. Is there more to the theory? I’m confused where the idea comes from.
