Maybe someday in the distant future if humanity still exists, we humans will have all moved forward to a point where we can all live together in harmony leaving behind all hate, greed, jealousy, anger, and cruelty. If, when, that day comes, humanity will have achieved true peace and love. It's hard to imagine that day ever coming to us with so much hatred that currently exists in the world. I don't think any of us currently living will ever see this day come but we can hope that eventually, given enough time that man will learn to coexist in peace and harmony with each other, the animal kingdom, and mother earth. This would be my prayer to the world and our Universe. Although difficult, it is possible to change our paths that we currently tread. Let's pray that one day man will see the true meaning of life and be at one with the world. We all have to start somewhere so why not start here and now and be the ambassadors of peace, love, and harmony.

So beautifully expressed....begin in the here and now and be the ambassadors of peace, love and harmony.....this I can do even though I'm so often saddened and grieve for the world the way it is and and for my grandchildren.....who are positive young people who see a better future. thank you

I agree with all you say and would fervently join you in hoping things might one day change. But it's not the human condition and not really possible, and that's what Buddhism is about in its deeper meaning. Of course we revere the thought that living peacefully will help us along our path, but our path is to see that we have a false impression of what the world is, or can be. We see its unsatisfaction, and that we cling to the good bits and try to shun the bad bits. Only when we see that the world is not as we think, that all things are only phenomena which constantly change, can we walk that path of dharma in search of liberation so that we can be freed from having to cyle and recycle, with our karma, bad and good, endlessly making up the fabric of the world until we can reach nirvana - in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self, and we are released entirely from all karma and the cycle of death and rebirth. It is the final goal of Buddhism.
