Ace Ventura 2. I know it's such a typical film to pick but it was a stepping stone to branch out to people in a humorous manner. And it's ok to be funny is what I got the impression growing up. Although in more "serious" manner, I loved the Truman show. Made me realize how bad or the downside of the world trying to control you in such a manner for their own benefit. And how your decisions were based on arranged plans. Really want to make your life whatever you want not what society wants.

"almost never reinventing himself or the performances he tries to give" I feel like you glossed past Eternal Sunshine to strengthen your overall argument, but the film has had such a profound impact & his performance is so understated and nuanced. It's truly a major oversight & its omission undercuts the claim you're trying to make. Jim Carrey is capable of great dramatic performances, and saying he almost never reinvents the performances he's trying to give is an unnecessary simplification of a culturally significant actor. But in the end, I truly appreciate the effort you put into crafting this video, and, based on your responses to other comments pointing out this oversight, I know you care & want to deliver a comprehensive and insightful video. I'm sure it can't feel good to be called out over and over again about the same thing, so thank you for listening & for continuing to create.

I appreciate the time that went into making this video but I think you missed the mark here. Jim Carrey is "similar" in roles in the same way Robin Williams was "similar" in roles. Both of them are legendary comic actors and brought in enormous box office. Both also went on to serious things that were further out of their wheelhouse. Dismissing "Kidding" and "Eternal Sunshine" to support your argument is frustrating and I disagree with your main premise. So to say people only want 90s Jim Carrey I think is like saying people only want Robin Williams from Good Morning Vietnam. There are very distinct differences in the roles both decided to play later in their careers so it seems like you're minimizing the work and talent required by the actors.

Carrey is a fantastic physical actor. The transformation from the uncomfortable, twitchy, unsure Stanley Ipkiss to the deliberate, expressive, bombastic Mask is really well done, you feel like the Mask has allowed Stanley to stop caring and just go wild. It's not just The Mask either - in Sonic as Robotnik he's very deliberate, with occasional expressive, uncontrolled movements when he's surprised, or saying something off the cuff, or he thinks he's alone. I feel he captures Dr. Robotnik really well.

That tv show no one heard about is called Kidding and it’s his best dramatic performance in years, and the show its airing its second season RIGHT NOW!!! Honestly everyone should be praising him and the show.

Watching this video shows me how much Hollywood has fallen, especially when you mention how movies have shifted from being focused on star power in favor of branding, ultimately making it feel like everything is just an advertisement for products.

Am I the only one who liked "The Majestic?" It wasn't even mentioned in the video.
