They only talk for about 3 to 4 minutes at a time, and they usually have more time than is needed to finish the bake anyway, so it's not really a big deal

@@dusklunistheumbreon i wud disagree there. In theory one can always be workin on other components of a dish. Like how on Iron Chef theyre often workin on a main dish or two and then side dishes and appetisers and drinks so they end up servin a full meal usin the mystery ingredient. They prty much dont stop to talk durin the show and the host will try to talk to them even but usually doesnt get more than a quick sentence or two and the chef is back to work. And thats with havin sous chefs. In theory they cudve worked on additional toppings for the cake and a creamy frothy whipped milk beverage to pair it with and made an ice cream (with the help of an industrial str deep freeze and/or dry ice/liquid nitrogen) that pairs well flavourwise. All of that bein stuff they can work on while the cake is bakin.
