I love how calculators haven’t changed in design since they became handheld. They don’t need too!!! The one I’ve had for 15 years still works and will be replaced with one that looks exactly the same. Even the ones on your phone looks the same. It’s adorable.

Small time Casio collector here. I bought my first calculator fx-68 in 1979 (still have it). Bought my last calculator SL-880 three months ago. Still use a Casio calculator at work.

5:055:04 though the video refers to relay calculators these are vacuum tubes and those were what were used before transistors. Relays are mechanical, vacuum tubes are electrical. My knowledge is obsolete and oh god so am i lol

Is there any chance of a book based on Linus Torvalds' Biography. I know the biography is 23 years old so doesn't include a LOT of Torvalds' story such as Git and the GPL wars. As well as nothing about the Linux juggernauts of Ubuntu and Android. But I feel like it has enough material for part 1 of a series.

Oh, Mr. Seiko, what have you done? Look at this terrible trend you've begun! You make me sick, you contemptible dog I blame you for the death of the cog! Clocks used to be such magnificent things Beautiful sprockets and dazzling springs But you gave the people your digital beast And in turn now all gears are deceased How things have changed from when I was a boy! Clockwork would tick and would bring me much joy But, with your advent, there's no need to wind-- Everything charming has been left behind! Oh, Mr. Seiko, you dirty fiend Your modern timepiece is cruel and obscene! I was a lover of gears great and small They all were my friends and you've murdered them all! How could a person commit such a crime-- To murder immaculate keepers of time? Why should a person so foul get away? Seiko, you're gonna pay! So, Mr. Seiko just watch your back Hide all those digital clocks on your rack They'll soon end up smashed to bits in a bog Because you, you, you, you, YOU Caused the DEATH OF THE COG! /The Death of the Cog
