Chardonnay is fun to say! My place is San Michele near Trento. And then, don't ask me how or why, a cantina in Dogliani (with Diano, the Dolcetto capital of Piedmont). Found a cantina there... that made killer Chardonnay. Viva Stainless Steel! E forza Agnese!

We had a Grand Cru Chablis from 2006 this year, it was amazing! Almost like burnt caramel cheesecake complexity level.

Other wonderful Chablis producers to try are Domaine Pattes Loup (Thomas Pico), Benoit Droin, Laurent Tribut, Samuel Billaud, and Domaine Servin. I agree, Louis Michel et Fils is an excellent producer and great value as well.

Simonnet-Febvre makes great Chablis that changes in style each vintage. One vintage I had was very creamy and the next was mineral driven and steely.

Great video Agnes. I have always heard of Chablis wine but didn't know it was tied so closely to Chardonnay. I personally like Sauvignon Blanc for white wines. Pinot Grigio is to sweet and Chardonnay is to dry in my opinion. Also though up a great topic for a future video (part 3 of terms maybe). Discuss what the hierarchy levels are and what does appellation mean. Thanks

Thank You for Your comment. And thank You for suggesting the topics, I already put them down in my notebook, so I don’t forget! 🤞🍾✨

I love Louis Michel’s wines as they are made in SS. I also adore Domaine Gilbert Picq for the same reason.

Some of my favorite Chardonnay are premier cru Chablis…. Crisp, mineral, linear, no oak beauties. 😎😎
@NoSediment2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree. I am not against the oak specifically, but Chablis can be so great also without it and it seems almost like more authentic, if that makes sense. 🤷♀️🥂🍾✨

@@NoSediment If you find any vintage of their Mont de Milieu for less than 40€ you've got yourself an amazing bargain so just hoard on it. My favourite years would be 2010, 2012 and, most and foremost, 2008.

Chablis are cheap wine because they taste very very bland. That’s why the best Chardonnay wines such as Montrachet and Meursault are oak barrel aged which gives them much more bold tasting notes and body. Chablis is just blah.
@NoSediment Жыл бұрын
I disagree. ☺️ of course there are some lower quality Chablis, especially bland sometimes can be Petit Chablis, but there is a reason why Chablis is considered to be one of the best terroirs for Chardonnay grape. 1er and Grand Cru wines of Chablis also might see oak treatment, often in more subtle way than in Montrachet or Meursault, but oak alone for me is not a detrimental point for quality. 🤷♀️ Anyway, that is fine, we all have our preferences and it is the best part of the wine - we both are right! 🤫✨
