They did a remarkable job with the party scene, I think that's exactually what Fitzgerald pictured when he wrote that scene.

Eowyn of Rohan I had a thought about this, what if to them they're hearing 20's music, but we hear it as modern music because the director wanted us to feel like we were there and be able to relate to it easier.

+cellthefun What about people that want to be immersed in the era? The music ruins that.

Tobey has such an amazing way of expressing emotion through his voice and gazes! Elisabeth Debki is such an embodiment of Grace and beauty! And yes, this was the most luxurious, the most epicurean and artful party ever!

I love Gemma Ward...even just saying "I heard he killed a man once" she has such an intensity to her...I hope she lands more roles, she's an awesome actress.

I wish the party scene was longer. It was so noisy and full of details.

The book is set in 1922; George Gershwin wrote 'Rhapsody in Blue' in 1924. Ding!

I would really like to see this movie but the bad hip hop music ruined it for me! WTF? Use music that was actually played during the 1920s!

it was a creative decision. they needed it to feel more lively like a broadway film so jay z helped produce the music and many artists were asked to sing songs that were modern but had 1920's jazz influence.
