The Great Junk Hunt; junk journaling mini haul

If you live near a place that offers The Great Junk Hunt, and you’ve wondered if it was worth attending from a junk journal perspective, this mini haul may help answer that question. I already have a plethora of JJ supplies, so I limited what I purchased, but these finds and so many more were readily available. I found that attending was well worth the time and the entrance fee.

So funny Charlie Brown is my absolute fave along with Winni the Pooh. I had a lab when I was very young called snoopy. He was adorable. Love all your goodies❤.

Of course, we moved away from Coeur d’ Alene, and now I can’t fly across the country for lace! I’ll have to start looking in Portland, Maine in hopes of finding such treasures. What a score of lacy goodness, along with the gorgeous book and quilt. Enjoy them, Cori.

Such a coincidence that I would see this today. A friend asked if I would share some pieces of my cutter quilts with her. Sure! …..only when I actually got them out to start cutting, I could only bring myself to cut into two quilts of the eight I have. The others still look pretty…from a distance, I admit, but I just couldn’t do it. So my friend is getting some pieces of the two quilts that only had patches of intact fabric left. And the rest get stacked back in the vintage wardrobe I keep them in. Which, as I tell myself, really makes no sense.

What a great haul! Love the botanical book. That is a wealth of journal ephemera. The vintage lace is beyond gorgeous. You found some great ones. So intricate and beautiful😊. I agree your idea for using some lace on the flaps of the notebook is a great idea. I think I might have to use that idea if you don’t mind? The name of my Etsy shop is Rustic Prairie Gems. I just opened the shop back up after being closed for 3 months. I was in Wyoming with my son and his family. They had a new baby girl and we went to help with all their chores and things they have going on like helping Kiran get up early to get ready for school and make the bus. Poor guy has to get up at 6 am to be ready for the bus at 7. That’s just too early for a 7 year old! But when you live in the mountains and are far from school that’s the way it has to be. Anyway didn’t mean to tell you my life story. Just want you to know that when I have a chance I do listen to your videos. I do love your style ❤️

See Cori I knew I liked you . Charlie Brown is my favorite too! I'm currently sitting in my favorite Charlie socks. I have vintage Peanuts drinking glasses , The common phrase to my son and his teenage buddies is " watch out for Charlie!" because they tend to break things. BOYS lol. Your finds are wonderful . Fun finds. My daughter lives in Enumclaw. When I visit and need a hobby lobby I go to Puyallup. So you must not live far from her. I love how you’re always using scraps and not a lot of digitals. That’s my style, or working toward it. Used to be a scrapbooker so I’m trying to use all that stuff up in junk journal form.

I love Enumclaw. Such a delightful community. I live in Olympia and my daughter lived in North Bend before she moved to Idaho, so I took the "back" way through Enumclaw often. Ialso used to scrapbook and I still have more supplies than I'll ever be able to use 😊

You found such beautiful lace! There’s an antique store I go to in Lee, MA that sells absolutely gorgeous lace. It’s about an hour away from my father-in-law’s house upstate New York and driving around in the mountains to buy beautiful antique lace is so totally worth it! Enjoy all your great finds!

Wow! What a great haul! I live in NorCal so as you can imagine there is no such thing as a good bargain here 😂. In fact, triple the cost of your haul and that’s what it will cost here. Where I live, beautiful laces are hard to find. So, when I travel, I search thrift and antique shops for treasure. I used to very rarely use lace, but now especially after your Little Bits of Lace. I seen to want to add it to everything. Thank you for sharing.

What a great haul. I lived in Redmond, WA for many years and would visit Monroe and Snohomish quite often, two of my favorite places to antique. I miss them. I generally store lace on vintage wooden spools, or in rolls depending on size, but I also sometimes use lace cards, which many people make and have patterns for. If you search on YT for "lace cards" I'm sure you'll find many examples.
