I remember the first time I discovered the power of the cucco. I was 6 years old, I had my Gamecube and a copy of Zelda's Collector's edition. It was Ocarina of Time, I was in Kakariko Village looking for Golden Skulltellas. But the cucco's were still scattered across town, I was trying to hit a Skulltella when a cucco wandered into the hit. Throughout my journey the game showed me the difference between "good guys" & "bad guys" (Npc's/enemies but I didn't know what those were and I certainly didn't know those words back then) If I tried to swing my sword my attack would go through NPCs but not enemies, enemies had a hit effect so when I hit the cucco and saw the effect. A question popped into to my mind, "Are cuccos bad guys?" So my childish curiosity had to be answered, so... I hit it again but it nothing happened it just runs away. So kept hitting seeing if it would disappear and give a heart. But then... Time stopped, I couldn't do anything, the camera zooms in on the cucco slowly, and then... That damn sound it made... You know that sound, you heard it. That terrifying sound was the least of my concerns. My ignorant self didn't realize I opened Pandora's Box, before I knew it thousands of birds had flooded my screen. I had 4 hearts and hadn't suffered my first defeat in battle. When I faced Gohma I was afraid of her yes but I tried to be brave cuz I had a sword and shield. That small bit courage helped go through the fight but not without getting me to a low amount of health. The beeping terrified me but I was right next to a heart container. Suddenly recovering and extending my health, caused me to fail in realizing what "low health means" this was the first game that taught me how an action/adventure game works. The Cucco taught me that meaning and much more. It gave me my first in game death, and IT. WAS. HORRIFYING. I was so scared I turned off the Gamecube, and was able to play the game for 2 days I was so scared. So I played my Hot Wheels Racing Game instead. It was a terrifying experience for a young meek me to go through, but from that day forward I learned one true fact. Just like how I was told not to play with fire otherwise you get burned, I learned *NEVER FUCK WITH THE CUCCOS* IF you're reading this and you read my entire story, I deeply thank you. You're an amazing person and I'm sure The Great Fairies will bless you with luck. If you're reading this and DIDN'T read the story, that's fine but this part isn't for you, you should probably leave.

Oh you poor soul. I experienced the horror of the cucco for the first time when I played Ocarina of Time on the 3DS. It was also my first Zelda game that I got after I turned 14. I still haven’t finished it though. Not because I didn’t like it. I just got stuck trying to find Saria and I just never got back into it. I want to, but there are just other games I want to play, college is a pain, and my family and I aren’t on good terms. Anyway I remember learning the horror of the cucco. Though I don’t remember what happened. My 14 year old mind went all over the place trying to process what happened. However, a six year old going through that is just so freaking horrible. Oh well at least in Breath of the Wild you can throw those demons into lava and actually kill them.
