ALRIGHT, here we go. As of the lore, alternate timelines aren't officially considered different people. Majora's Mask Link and Adult Link are still considered to be the same person, just with different fates. What is considered multiple of a character involves incarnations. Characters like Link and Zelda appear in multiple games being different people. These are incarnations. However, you're not wrong on saying there's more than one. I'll explain by going through the timeline. It begins in Skyward Sword, where Demise placed a curse. He doomed Zelda and Link to fight an incarnation of his evil forever. This incarnation was eventually Ganondorf. He appeared in Ocarina of Time, and began the split. Looking at the Fallen Hero Timeline, Beast Ganon killed this Link. However, due to becoming his beast form, he lost all which made him Ganondorf. All which was left was the curse by Demise and the Triforce's energy. He was killed by Link in this form. From there, every appearance is the beast, and none of Ganondorf. In the Child Timeline, he was captured before he could overthrow the king. They attempted to execute him, but because he killed a water sage, he was locked into the Twilight Realm instead. This begins Twilight Princess. By the end, Ganondorf is yet again killed by Link. But he does come back later, in Four Swords Adventure. This is a new incarnation of Ganondorf, and was the first one to ever do so. He was sealed into the Four Sword by the end. In the Adult Timeline, he was sealed away in the final battle between Link and him. But he vowed to return, which he eventually did. In Wind Waker, the world was flooded to stop Ganondorf. And despite his return, they flooded the world a second time after he was turned to stone. Most likely, he was killed in this scenario. As for Breath of the Wild, the lead theory is he is from the Child Timeline. There are small details which insinuate Breath of the Wild is from this timeline, and he is still very much alive in that timeline, just sealed away. So in total, there have only been two confirmed Ganon cases. Could Breath of the Wild make a third? It's quite possible.
