Fantastic images and footage - the lion by the carcass photo is so raw, think that's my favourite - has a vibe of warzone/conflict photography almost with the expression and colour palette. I'm one of those people saying they'll head out on safari one day - just have to save up first! Cheers Andrew

Loving the Lion up in the tree with the environment around as well as the Giraffes!

Thanks Joe, that lion is probably my favourite and the giraffes are right up there too. The giraffes came across the plain straight towards our vehicle as we were leaving the Serengeti - almost like they had come to say goodbye.

Great channel. Just discovered youre channel and ive started to look at youre videos from the very first videos of the panasonic G9 as ive just bought mine recently and I'd like to learn as much about this camera as I can. So reason behind me finding youre channel really is the camera itself. Great content. Looking forward to looking at many of youre vids for tips and inspirations. Btw, fantastic imagery!

Thanks David, glad you like the shots. The G9 is a fantastic camera and really a lot of fun to use, especially when you discover a few of it's tricks. Have fun and I really hope you continue to enjoy the videos.

Looks like some great tours. I just came back from Uganda visiting the mountain gorillas for the first time, it was much more challenging than I expected it to be. So much bush to shoot through, combined with all the jostling around to find a place to stand, competing with other trekkers for views. I didn't get nearly as many keepers as I'd like, but next time will be better prepared. Giving it another go in Rwanda next month. Near-Far AF was a huge help though, which I believe I learned first from one of your videos.

Wow, that's all good info. My visit next year will be my first. I have a question for you...most cameras will beep when the AF locks on...is that a problem with the gorillas or will they just ignore it? I'm really happy my near/far shift tips helped. Best of luck for Rwanda.

@@naturesimagephotography You'll be surprised how unbothered gorillas are with people/sound. I was in silent shutter mode, but others didn't have that option so full mechanical shutter clicks. No issue whatsoever, and we were quite close to the gorillas. You get much closer than they tell you that you will/should, but as long as you are not in their way it's not a problem, they're habituated and used to humans being near them. The guides only said no flash and no loud talking. But we were snapping photos at one point from maybe 1 meter away, no issue. I'm not sure what lens you'll be planning on using, but if you have the 50-200 that would be my recommendation. I was shooting the Olympus 12-100 and that served me well, though I would have liked more reach for when people were in front of me and I needed to step back and find an alternative viewing angle.
