I could look at that vintage artwork all day 🥰. Oh how beautifully women used to dress in the 40s and 50s, what happened to us? 😂. Those Vogue dresses are stunning with all those lines and angles. Great job on the destash, you were ruthless and more decisive than I was 😅. Can't wait to see the others. ❤xx❤

Jen, I loved watching your pattern destash. I a sucker for a pretty 1940s dress. The interesting details they used are beautiful. I just love them but thinking about fitting them would scare me to death! I'm also drawn to a lot of the 1970s styles even though I lived through them on their first go around. I like the simple beauty of them. They're good for letting a beautiful or fun fabric sing. Plus I find most of the tops and dresses very comfortable (the jeans and pants not so much now days🙄). Good luck with the rest of your destash. X

What was it about the 1940's? Such fashion, such style. We need a return to that.

I always remember my Mum talking about her 22 inch waist and looking at those patterns reminds me of dresses she used to make for herself to go to Saturday night dances, where she met my Dad. Happy days! Those Vogue patterns are so classy, especially V2354 - beautiful! Kind regards from Penny 🇬🇧😊💕

Hi Penny! How in the world did anyone have a 22" waist? Those women and their girdles - amazing. I think they all must have been 4 feet tall as well 😂

So many great patterns but sometimes we do need to do a clean out. I had the original of Simplicity 8505 from my MIL’s patterns. She made it for me when I married her youngest son 45 years ago. I made it for myself about 15 years ago. I don’t like the pattern and destashed it several years ago. I do still have the last caftan, but it has been permanently relegated to the camper. 😊

Love vintage looks. Their details just make them interesting. I don’t have many vintage but I have a stash of Past Patterns. I made one dress which I loved when I was younger. When I wore it, back before vintage looks became so popular, I got some quirky looks from people that read, “Why on earth would you wear that?!” I felt great in that dress;special anniversary dress❤️Now, people would look at it so much differently because it’s more accepted🥰

Ooooh, Past Patterns. I've always loved those. And I remember when people would look at you that way. Now they're envious! ❤️

@@TodayinJensSewingRoom I think I have a collection of Folkwear too. I made a vintage gown out of flannel. It was warm, but not “sexy.” 😂 I made the Garden Party Dress too. I loved that dress, but again people thought I was crazy! So funny how things change.

Good job being ruthless. I have a few of those, and have made the dress from the ‘40s that has the sweetheart neckline. It’s actually really detailed and has a lot of amazing features. Extended sleeves are my fave. Cracked me up that you don’t like them. 🤣Love you. 😘💗

So many lovely patterns. Some of the ones your are letting go are just my sort of thing but I have to admit that those kaftans are not so good. If you want a Kaftan just cut a whole in a bedsheet and stitch the sides up. The ones you are keeping have some really nice features so look forward to seeing them come to life. Looking forward to what else you have in future destash vlogs.

It’s funny, I was able to predict why you bought it - pockets, collars, daughters. I am wondering how many patterns exactly you have so I can guess both the destash number. Did you start with the vintage reprints because it was the smallest group or the hardest to part with? Though you did make some very quick decisions. I am talking to you 1970’s caftans!!!
