Companies are getting too big and the gov. and the states are too willing to help them out at the expense of small business. Walmart comes to mind. Once they have the market they can pay their employees what ever they want and charge what ever they want for the products. But in the end this consumer driven market will collapse because the people who buy the products and services dont get paid enough to keep the system going. Now people are recognizing that what they get paid doesn't pay the bills, so there is no incentive to work. We have reached that point.

This whole “where are the workers” nonsense is such bull. I’ve been looking passively for over a year, actively for two months now and the problem isn’t that there is a lack of workers, skilled and experienced in my case The problem is I’m personally not willing to accept starvation wages and a lack of reasonable flexibility. Not willing to continue risking my health going into the office, not to mention wasting money - hello inflation - to do what can be done from my home. Ask these companies why they pivoted so quickly (literally overnight) away from remote work postings, and that’s part of your answer as well I had one company call me to ask what the least I would accept is, then they’d follow up with an interview. They never did and I got the official “no” email yesterday 🙄 two months later So, ask if they’re actually legit hiring or wasting people’s time going through the motions. All bs

The largest employer, Wal-mart, doesn't pay their workers enough to get to work, let alone deal with the diseased public. That's just for starters. The company is scamming people into working for them because they take advantage of the category of people who really don't pay bills. They usually live with their parents. Meanwhile, It's a total loss for the poor sap who is so called "employed". Over worked, and underpaid; the work environment is for a sap. Who wants to really be a sap? AND it's usually VERY abusive and adverse. Waste of a life. How about asking 1 million dollars for a kitty litter box. Nobody is going to want it. Same with these jobs. Don't want to be a rich man's shoe. Always taken shoes for granted, but needs those shoes to get to the top. Penny pay and a difficult work environment is sure a way to say thanks!

When metrics (company size, breadth, depth, scope, education, experience, responsibilities, location, etc., etc.) is not commensurate with salary, then there is inadequacy. I recently saw a job posting with a large organization directing multiple channels, national offices, and processes, with significant direct reports, reporting to the CEO. The job posting was five pages long and responsibly section two. All these things considered it was clearly underpaid at $70k year. You might thing that is a lot of money if you're getting paid less, but not for the scope of that position. Perhaps they figured they would attract someone who undervalues themselves, or one who doesn't understand the worth of such position. Many companies are just not willing to pay what it takes to attract highly qualified talent .... Another example was a position I was applying for. $28 per hour to be a supervisor of a sales team which included training staff on sales and products, training them to pass state exams, going out into the community to bring in referral sources, actually writing up sales myself. After hire my manager dumped some of his responsibilities on my lap. I came to the company with a two page resume with a couple decades of experience. Now I'm clearly underpaid and looking for another job in line with my skills and experience. Business and corporations can't blame the labor shortage completely on the Great Resignation and the lack of talent. Businesses and Corporations must develop a culture of respect and realize that underpaying your talent is one sign of disrespect.
