Beautiful Spring Day down there, look at the weather map and see what we are experiencing up here in the Midwest lol. We got 6” of snow Friday morning here in Michigan and today the upper Midwest is getting over a foot, and we aren’t in the mountains, just far North. Gatlinburg has been in Springtime since early February as far as we are concerned 😎. Heading down a week from Monday staying at a beautiful cabin overlooking Mount Leconte…. Tired of Snow lol.

Two years ago, we were staying at a cabin between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge middle February. I was grilling steaks and a nice size black bear came walking up the driveway lol, as it approached the vehicle I got the key fob and kept hitting the lock making the horn beep, made him jump lol. I read that bears in the Smokies don’t have a true hibernation like bears in the North.

Yes we noticed at least 4 bear sightings in the very first part of February. But if you listen to our local news channels here. They say all bears are in hibernation. Honestly it don’t get as cold here as it used to to so it did mess up their hibernation times
