Yeah cool mate, I have been using the English as White a fair bit after watching Aman's speedrun on Chessbrah. I have found it to be quite a strong opening and found it easier to develop different tactics. Your counter as Black is great for me because, not only does it help to strengthen my English as White, it also helps to decipher weaknesses in that opening for when I am playing against it. As Black I have had the most success out of the King's Indian in general terms but it is fantastic for me to add another string to my bow, per se. Just wanted to add that along with most of us here, I really enjoy your content. I find it very instructive, flexible and sound. You're doing a great thing for the Chess community by providing content like this and you should be proud of yourself for that. Cheers, mate.

As a Pirc/Modern player who plays 1 ... g6 or 2 ... g6 from muscle memory, AND someone who has been caught in those nasty traps quite a few times, let me tell you that I appreciate this immensely. Also, it takes a lot of unlearning to be able to play f7-f5 early in the opening (my initiation came from the Dzindzhi-Indian) but when you know what you're doing, it pays handsomely. Awesome and simple intro with zero time wastage. Thanks!

I used this in an otb game tonight and it was a lot of fun. I won, but more importantly I didn't play the Symmetrical English! Thanks for the rec. I'm wondering how this fares against all of the different move order preferences Botvinnik English players use, and I ended up playing a slightly different move order than I think most would recommend, but I'm hooked and excited to learn more about this system.

Challenge idea: you have to spin the wheel after every Martin's move, there are 2 options - make a move or miss (change the position to Martin on move)

I may have played this variant before against English. I have to agree, it’s a good defense opening if you know what your doing. I like the Whale or the so called Krummik opening for white! :)

Hate this setup!!😡😡 they go go for the d4 break after e5, g6.. And the rook is hanging. Later on when I play f5 they go for the e4 break. After this it really weakens my king followed by all of these pawn breaks.😒😒 Gotta find another setup😓😓 Edit: I tried different move orders to reach this setup but it doesn't work too😐😐

Ehhhh I don't know it's nice, but it seems like it is playing into what most English players like to do, which is to sit back, not get attacked, and consistently take shots at your position with no worries the g6 square looks very weak to tactics and knight forks on the King and rook

I'm not so used to play againts English Opening, most of time I have hard time to deal with it. So far I only play reversed Sicilian againts English. This is might be good addition for me but I feel like this system kinda risky for me. We lack on our development as well because we move our pawns few times and not to mention losing another tempo with Kh8 to avoid check from Qb3.
