ABOUT THE FILM:
Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, Joanna Wallfisch, pedals 2000 miles down under for a zero-emissions musical adventure.
The Great Song Cycle, Down Under is a totally unique, multi-faceted project that can be described as a 2000 mile, zero-emissions, solo-female concert tour that takes in the breathtaking landscape and communities of Australia, by bicycle.
The film reveals the raw effort it takes not only to be a professional musician, but to usurp public expectations and focus on one's core values, in Joanna's case the environment, connecting with community, and always being true to every aspect of herself.
Carrying all of her instruments and cycling gear in four Ortlieb panniers, Joanna cycles 60 miles a day from venue to venue. Over those miles she faces fears, exhaustion and injury, yet manages to still show up for her concerts on time with a smile and a clear voice.
This is a a film of determination, beauty and triumph.
